I just had my appendix removed about nine months ago. It started early one morning with a bad stomach ache. I kept thinking they were Pms cramps. I couldn't get comfortable. It didn't matter what position I was in I couldn't stand up straight. I did have a little nausea and diahrrea but nothing for a week. If you have appendicitis you know something is wrong. I finally went into the E.R. that evening b/c I couldn't handle the pain any longer. Try pushing down hard on the area and release quick. If you go through the roof you are pretty much guaranteed a trip to the E.R. They will do a cat scan and give you the news. I can't imagine you having appendicitis if it has been a week. You are better off going to a Dr. if it is still persisting.

Gallbladder disease suspected.
The symptoms of appendicitis vary. It can be hard to diagnosis appendicitis in young children, the elderly, and women of childbearing age.
Typically, the first symptom is pain around your navel. The pain initially may be vague, but becomes increasingly sharp and severe. You may have reduced appetite, nausea, vomiting, and a low-grade fever.
As the inflammation in the appendix increases, the pain tends to move into your right lower abdomen and focuses directly above the appendix at a place called McBurney's point.
Symptoms of Gallbladder disease:
* Abdominal fullness or gas
* Abdominal pain that is:
# Severe
# Located on the right side (right upper quadrant) or in the upper middle of the abdomen (epigastric)
# Decreased over 12 to 18 hours in uncomplicated cases
# Recurrent or similar to pain in past
# Occurring after meals
# Worse during deep intake of breath
# Radiating to back or below the right shoulder blade
# Worse after eating or drinking fatty foods or fluids
* Fever
* Nausea and vomiting
* Heartburn
* Chills and shaking
* Chest pain under the breastbone

The main symptom of appendicitis is abdominal pain. The pain is at first diffuse and poorly localized, that is, not confined to one spot. (Poorly localized pain is typical whenever a problem is confined to the small intestine or colon, including the appendix.) The pain is so difficult to pinpoint that when asked to point to the area of the pain, most people indicate the location of the pain with a circular motion of their hand around the central part of their abdomen. A second, common, early symptom of appendicitis is loss of appetite which may progress to nausea and even vomiting. Nausea and vomiting also may occur later due to intestinal obstruction.

Its usually in ur lower right abdomen near the pelvic area. It feels very sharp and can become increasingly painful w/time. I started to feel sick on and off for a but then one day i had a horrible pain & it didnt go away. Call ur physician to make an apptmt. because it can b fatal if the appendix errupts due to toxins in the appendix. If it bursts the toxins r released into ur abdominal cavity and can b fatal if left unattended. So get to ur Dr. soon, if it is then the surgery is minor and fast and if its not then u can at least b sure & safe.

SYMPTOMS OF APPENDICITIS:
1) pain in right iliac fossa. (right lower abdominal region ).
2) pain goes away for a short while after taking analgesic/antispasmodic.
3)when you press with finger between the hipbone and umbilicus(1/3 from hip bone) Mc Burney's point; and release the finger suddenly there is a sharp pain called Rebound Tenderness.
4)constipation.
5)nausea and vomiting.
BUT if the appendix is retrocecal there will be no pain.

Investigations:
Your white cell count will be above 10,000.
Emergency Ultrasonograrphy of (USS) of whole abdomen.
If in USS concludes inflammatory enlargement of Appendic.
Then emergency operation is a must before it bursts or gangraneous.
REPORT TO ER, RIGHT AWAY.
IF you are having cholecystitis due to any reason the ultrasound report will swhow it.

pain in the lower abdomen, a lot of pain, fever and nausea.

If' you've been suffering for a week, you probably don't have appendicitis, but go to the doctor and find out. If you do have it, and it bursts, peritonitis can kill you.
