My 4 year old daughter recently had her blood drawn and her doctor said that her count came back a little low at 3.8, she said it should be above 5. We will be going back in 3 weeks to have it retested. Could you tell me some possible reasons for this? The doc said she may be fighting a virus. What could be some other causes? Thanks!

Can anyone give me any feed back on using xanax for a medical procedure? My doc prescribed it because I am very anxious over a painful medical test I have to have. I was under the impression that xanax is usually for generalised anxiety disorder. I don't have generalised anxiety problems, its just over this one test. I had this test once before(without a sedative) and had a panic attack. I am supposed to take one .25mg pill 30 minutes prior and can repeat with a second dose if necessary. Any feedback on the meds would be appreciated.

For the last month I've had abdominal and stomach discomfort and some abdominal cramps (usually followed by trip to the bathroom). I've also hag light dizzy spells and weakness. Just last week I had a blood test - everything fine - and consulted with a MD, who found nothing. This morning while on the toilet I almost passed out, dizzy and weak. My stool by the way was on the soft side, but not diarrhea. Afterwards I had a sharp headache for a minute or two - now I'm okay. Tomorrow I'm going to a gastroenterologist, but I want your feedback too. What's up do you think is going on?

I have chronic insomnia. It started probably 8 years ago. On an initial appointment with a new OBGYN, my doctor asked if I was on the pill. I answered yes, and he advised me to go off of it because over time, the pill interferes with serotonin levels. I did that, and in a week was sleeping like a baby. Then, over the course of time, my sleeping problems came back. It has been years on and off of sleep aids. I have tried Valerian root, melatonin, tylenol pm, and of course the prescription stuff, but then I end up a zombie the next day. I read about 5-htp and was wondering whether or not this might be a solution.

Vomiting black (I don't know anything more specific than that), dehydration to the point that the doctors had to insert an IV into the head because all other veins could not safely take one. Some type of blockage of the colon. Please someone draw a diagnosis of this. This is real it's happening to a 1 year old girl that we know as of right now.

I have a couple of large fibroids that are really giving me a lot of trouble. I can get a partial hysterectomy but would rather not. A holistic doctor suggested that I use bioidentical progesterone cream to back down my estrogen levels which may help the tumors shrink plus use some liver detox pills. Has anyone had success in this area. I'm a little afraid of the cream. Used it two days in a row now and feel as though I'm experiencing some weird side effects.

when i was 14 i was told that i had scleroderma, and that was it. I have an older aunt who also has this but i don't have a number or know where she lives. now i am 20, have no medical insurance and no money to go to the doctor. I have been feeling really bad and have been noticing things happening to me and i don't know if its part of the disease or not. I just want to talk to someone who has been through this and ask them some questions. So if any one has scleroderma and can spare some time to answer my questions i would be really great full. my email is quileter@gmail.com. if anyone can answer my questions that would be great. thanks all

I am 18 years old and have not been on any steady medication. My twitches have been going on for about two years. They seem to vary in severity very randomly. One day I'll almost twitch out of my seat at school and the next day I won't have any twitches at all. I have a normal sleep cycle and am totally healthy (so far as I know). I haven't had the time to see a doctor or anything fancy. Anybody know what could be wrong?

I'm going up to the city tomorrow, and I want to get well ASAP. I very rarely get sick (One cold in the last 2 years), so I'm not sure what I'm up against.
Here are my symptoms-
Fever (101.7-102 degrees F) plus chills
Sore throat (It hurts to swallow)
Sore body/Aches
Headache
Stuffy Nose (could be from my allergies)

I'm a teenager, if that makes a difference, but I'm not going to tell my parents. They would try to make me stay home, and I'm not going to miss this for anything! (It's my last chance to spend time with a best friend who moved away.)

Any ideas on what I've got/ suggestions for a quick recovery?
