You need to get your appendix checked ASAP.

Worry, stress, will only make what you are feeling, feel worse. It's probably nothing. All kinds of swellings and bumps will show up until you are finished growing. You've done the right thing by asking your doctor what you should do. I doubt it's cancer or your appendix, just have your ultrasound done and don't worry. I once had a bump on my collarbone that I was worried about. I kept touching and worrying about what it could be, bone cancer kept jumping out in my mind. It turned red and became painful, now I was really worried. My doc said he had never seen anything like it and I too went in for ultrasound. It was nothing. Maybe congenital, but it was red and painful because I kept worrying and touching the area. Do you realize your intestines will move all over the place? You could have done something to make them bunch, and they could have moved to your right side. Just don't worry. It's not as easy as it seems to 'catch' cancer, especially at 14.
