I've had a lump on my rib cage for a few months, and I was hoping it would just be lipoma, but is it possible to get lipoma on your ribcage???

I'm going to hospital to get it removed tomorrow, but I just want to have something to be positive about, so please answer!

A fractured rib is very painful and you would have known at the time it was fractured. I had severe pain anytime I changed position in bed. This went on for over three weeks. It sounds like a dislocated or floating rib. Have an x ray and your doctor will explain what your options are. I suspect if it is not painful no medical action would be necessary.

I really don't think a lump on your ribcage has anything to do with the rib itself, more to do with the connective tissue over your ribs.

This is not going to be a big deal. Are they doing it laparascopicly? That hardly leaves a scar. Take a sleeping pill tonight if you need to, and do something fun with your kids. I know it's scary, but compared to other diagnoses, it's most likely very minor.
