Hepatitis C is a form of liver inflammation that causes primarily a long-lasting (chronic) disease. Acute (newly developed) hepatitis C is rarely observed as the early disease is generally quite mild. Spread mainly by contact with infected blood, the hepatitis C virus (HCV) causes most cases of viral liver infection not due to the A and B hepatitis viruses.
I don't want to get your hopes up, but there are presently a number of regimens that have proven to be effective against the hepatitis C virus. It depends on the type of hepatitis C you have and also upon the degree or level of infection, but under the right conditions, the prospects of completely ridding the body of the virus can be higher than 50%. The very best thing for you to do at this point is to see a specialist and discuss what treatments are available.
But, I also understand that the treatment for HEP C is very costly and ineffective in USA. It can be treated in India and I would advise you to get your friend here. In addition to allopathy treatment, you can try homeopathy, which I understand slow but effective. Also you can try Auyrveda medicine and I understand Baba Ramdev gives wonderful treatment for this. This treatment as well as homeopathy medicine can be given simultaneouosly without any adverse effect for allopathic medicine.
You can contact for Baba Ramdevji's treatment at -

Best of luck for speedy recovery of your friend-

There is a treatment for it and it is successful in 50-80% of the people who try it and stay on it for the full course of the treatment. It's called interferon & ribavirin. It is like a form of chemotherapy, so there are some side effects but they can be managed with education, support, and lifestyle changes. I did it and have been clear of hep c since 2000. See the links below for more information. Best wishes.

As far as I know there is not a cure, but my aunt got it from a blood transfusing, many years ago, when she had cancer, and God Bless her, cause her cancer is gone, but the hepatitis C is still in her, but under control completely and they except her to live a normal life. There are things you have to follow, meds, and taking care of yourself and what you eat. A lot of new stuff out there for it, cause a lot of people have it and it is spreading fast. Blessings to your friend.
