My six year old just got Hep A and Chicken Pox vaccines at his doctor. I read on the online pages that the injection sight is usually in the arm. His pedi's asst. gave the injections in the upper thight (side). Is that Ok? He also has Aspergers Syndrome (high functioning autism), do you think these vaccines make it worse? Are they even safe?

I've been on narcotics for few years through pain management but want to get off the pain meds for awhile and clean myself out so I can try other pain control methods....my insurance will pay for addiction treatment but how does that work? Will I be labeled an addict through insurance company and never be able to get any pain meds again if other forms of pain control do not work? Should I do the out patient treatment and pay for it myself to avoid issues? If I go through insurance do they inform the pharmacy and then they label me too? The meds I have been on work awesome, the last 2-3 yrs my quality of life has been 75% better but I just want to take a break from the narcotics and try other methods if I can but do not want to chance not being able to get back on the old meds if I had to.
How does the insurance work in respect to addiction treatment? I am not an addict in the full meaning of the word... my body is dependent on them & I'll get sick if stopped abruptly but addicted? No!

If someone is severely physically addicted to alcohol, and is at risk of getting DT's or having siezures if they quit cold turkey, is it possible to slowly reduce the amount of alcohol consumed in order to taper off of the physical addiction over time? This person can't afford to go to a medical detox facility, but they want to quit drinking.

sensation. -Not really burning as much as acrid or like smelling sawdust as wood is being cut. My sinus have been bothering me the last 6 months or so. Lot of pressure and drip. Then I had a bad cold about 6 weeks ago. Lost all smell and taste for awhile -now 50% back. But I live with this stinging, dry nose and sinuses and dry throat. I'm not at all congested. Quite the opposite. And I haven't taken any sinus/cold medications for weeks. On top of it all I have had ongoing headaches most days. Nothing seems to help. I just drink a lot because I feel like I need moisture. Help.

I understand that there's the anulus and so on and what happens when it is penetrated by the nucleus pulposus and hits the nerve, but is something different with a rupture? Just a different name? I've had the herniation before, but the pain and immobility this time is so much more intense. Help!

I have been dealing with an epsodic attacks. This has left me with a tracheostomy. I was a 32 year old healthy nurse. In may of last year I fell to the ground at my sons baseball game unable to breath. I have since experienced over 30 simular attacks. I can not breath dispite the trach. unless assisted by ventaliton. Breaking every blood vessel in my face while having this attack is the newest of symptoms. These attacks last from hours to a day. Usuallyx-ray revelies fluid in lungs. I have seen every speciality Dr. I know of and no one has a clue. This past week I was in Teneseee Visiting my mom, while being air lifted to Nashville no one there still knows what could be causing what i consider to be life threating respitory failure attacks. I am awaiting an appointment at the mayo clinic, hoping for some anwsers. I just wish there was a real life House who would take my case.

It turns out that my husband and I will be terminating life support for our little baby girl of 10 months tomorrow. The doctors can not do anything more for her and she is obviously suffering and getting worse. The spark has gone out of her eyes and she is just sad all the time. Her machines keeping her alive are going up and we feel it is the right thing to do to let her go peacefully and be out of pain. I want to thank all those in the past who offered support during the forum about other children that have been taken before their time. They will always live in our hearts .

Do regular doctors carry Clarocet in their pharmacies? Do I have to go to a COSTLY Herbalist to get this drug? Also, I'd like to avoid ordering on-line without the permission of a doctor if I can. Where can I go to get this?

I need to start exercising, due to my age and long-term inactivity. The problem is, I don't feel like doing so.Many tests, often involving the gall bladder, have turned up negative. My parents, especially my Dad, STILL think I need it taken out. What can any docotr, especially specialists, advise me about? Is there a medication, a food, or something else that could get me out of my funk? My GI doctor has tried those tests, even getting rid of a blockage around the Sphincter of Oddi. We all were hoping that'd do the job.It didn't WHAT ELSE CAN I DO? Would something like Danactive help? Herbs? My medications that have probably caused this include, but are not limited to,OxyContin,OxyCodone, and ZyvoxI've lived with my paerents for over three-and-a-half years.I turned 40 in late Feb.PLEASE,any advice would be helpful? I've been self treating a bladder infection for 4 weeks (cranberry juice, live culture yogurt...) I'm only a little better (Still have frequent urges, but I'm actually going when I think I have to now) No back pain. Should I go see a doctor or give it 4 more weeks? Any other treatments that might help? Thanks!

I am doing a project on the question, what is it like living as a little person? M ymom is quite small, coming in at around 4'8" but not as small as my project is talking about. I would like to know what difficult tasks there are to life, kind of like on the show: Little People, Big World. Thanks everyone for your help.
