sensation. -Not really burning as much as acrid or like smelling sawdust as wood is being cut. My sinus have been bothering me the last 6 months or so. Lot of pressure and drip. Then I had a bad cold about 6 weeks ago. Lost all smell and taste for awhile -now 50% back. But I live with this stinging, dry nose and sinuses and dry throat. I'm not at all congested. Quite the opposite. And I haven't taken any sinus/cold medications for weeks. On top of it all I have had ongoing headaches most days. Nothing seems to help. I just drink a lot because I feel like I need moisture. Help.

I've never had any probs with allergies. The dryness is the worse! I feel like there's not a drop of moisture in my nose, sinuses or head!

Sorry to hear you are so ill and sinus infections are annoying- you need to see your family doc- you most likely have allergies which are causing the on and off symptoms for such a long period of time....see him soon.........good luck to you.... in the meantime for tonight and the weekend, get a nasal spray that is called "ocean" because it is just saline solution- which is salt water- that will lubricate your nose and help dry up the sinuses- but you still need to see the doc- you can have a bad infection in your frontal sinuses and need an antibiotic and you could have allergies- which means you will need tests and then an allergy medicine.........

I've had allergy problems all my life. I have a few home remedies that may work.

Boil some water. Let it sit for a few minutes to ensure it's not too hot. Then, cover your head with a towel, and lean over the pan of water. Inhale in through your nose. The heat should loosen the mucus in your sinuses, and moisturize your nose and throat. Do this for about 15 minutes once or twice a day.

Also, another tip is to rinse a washcloth under hot water, then place it on your nose/eye region. This will also help to loosen things, and can be done about five times a day.

If your problems still persist, then see the doctor. There doesn't seem to be a lot that they can do over sinus problems, though, but good luck!

* Go to your doctors and tell them exactly whats going on.
It sounds to me like you have Allergies and Possibly you might not have fully recovered from a cold.

Also it could be that you have a Hole inside your nose.
My father has one and his symptoms are very similar to yours.

So I would get that checked out too.... Maby by an Ears, Nose, and Throat Doctor.

You can develop Allergies at any given time.... Even if you had never had any before!

Good Luck and Take Care!

Sounds like you have a low-grade infection.

If you have a fever, that would cinch it.

Go see your doctor, and have him do a scoping of your sinuses to see if he can determine the problem.

Additionally...do you have an VOCs (Volitile Organic Compounds) in your environment? Have you painted recently? Are you exposed to chemical overspray at work/home? Did you accidentally inhale a snoot-full of purfume while applying it?

Haven't done that yet. What an idea for nose trimming though.
