My 5 year old son has been having recurrent nose bleeds now for about 6 months. He seems to have them about a week before a bout of tonsillitis. Can these be connected in any way?

I'm on day 8 of a nasty sore throat and coughing up excessive bright yellow (occasionaly gray or green) phlegm. I've been to the doctor (yesterday, day 7) who says it's a virus and put me on rest and fluids.

My question is about whether my body's response seems abnormal?

It seems that people around me knock this out in 2-4 days whereas I am completely fatigued and very ill for more than a week each time. Could it be that I need to strengthen my immune system?

I've been having some difficulty breathing (chest feels tight) whenever my heart rate goes up, and it's happened to me countless times and the doctors are keeping an eye on it. This time I had experienced sudden sharp chest pain that goes away quickly. The longest isn't even near a minute, I guess. And I just had the chest pain five or less times in almost a week. Is this something I should see the doctor about?

If I don't have a colon, would my blood-alcohol level be higher than a healthy person with the same amount of alcohol?

It started three days ago, after I ate something at the coffeeshop, I started having these AWFUL stomach cramps. They will come about every 10 minutes, be so painful I am doubled over, and I am having diarrhea and feel hot a lot in the mornings. I was told it was just a mild case of food poisoning, and it would be gone in abot 48 hours, but now I am worried because IT HAS GONE ON FOR SO LONG AND IT KEEPS GETTING WORSE!!
What could be wrong with me, you think? What should I do, what should I take?
Should I call my doctor?
Is apple cider vinegar ok to take, and what about alka seltzer??

and heart tested & everything came back normal. I've gained a lot of weight from inactivity plus my brother-in-law also has Parkinson's & suffers from swollen ankles, too. So, is it a side effect of PD? Some people say swollen ankles can also be a sign of Diabetes, although I don't have any other symptoms for that. Don't worry, I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor this week but wanted your opinions - thanks!

My husband gets these horrible cramps in his butt/anus/rectum (not sure which to call it). They are so bad he will sit in a hot jacuzzi tub for an hour trying to get it to go away. Many times this doesn't help. Sometimes, they come after a bowel movement. Other times, it's just out of the blue, though. It's very disturbing to him. And he's too embarrassed to see a doctor about it. This has been going on for several years, and I would like to see him find some sort of relief for it.

I've heard that it is something about salt crystals forming round a bone. Will drinking lots of water and reducing salt intake help? Or do you need drugs?

Thanks from TW x - and my gran!

I have occasional numbness and tingling on the right side of my face. My ears sometimes have a really highpitched ring, clicking, and even a pulsating sound. Sometimes I have a super sharp pain in my ear, up and around the temple. In the last year I have noticed that my hearing on the right side is diminished. My right eye and lip often spasm.

I have this condition...or I think I do. Ever since I was in the eleventh grade, I have had trouble peeing if there are other people in the bathroom with me. If I really have to go--and I mean REALLY have to go--then there's no problem letting it out.

When the problem first came on, it was just in public restrooms. I would have trouble going at the urinal. But if I went into a stall and closed the door, all would be fine. After a while, I was able to use the urinals again.

I have had the problem in varying degrees over the years. It has never caused any serious problems. But, a few weeks ago, I went to a mall with my mom and sister. I had to go to the bathroom, but when I got there, I couldn't--not even in the stall. It was a few days before Christmas, and it was very crowded. Eventually, I was able to go. But it was after several tries.

I'm starting to run out of space, so I'll have to continue in the added details.

In the past two years, my husband and I have been through a severe car accident (that could have been fatal) he was off work for almost a year, got married and built a house all in the same year!!!) months later he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I have found myself not being able to concentrate, being destructive, like ripping things down instead of taking my time, breaking things, not being able to focus on a conversation, I feel like my mind is going a million miles a minute. I can never slow down unless I have a couple drinks, and I am not a big drinker! Do you think I have Attention Deficiet Disorder, or some kind of anxiety disorder, or do you think it is because of all the trauma I have been through the past year, whatever it is, can someone help!?

My husband (25yr old) was diagnosed with MS in July of 2006. He really hadn't had any flare ups until he started on his Avonex injections. Now he can barely move his right arm and his legs are weak. I am an RN and i know how bad this disease can be. He if refusing to take his Avonex injection and I and his doctor told him that he is giving up on it too early, he has only been on it for 2 months. Basically, I just need advice, he is possibly getting relased from his job, should he go on disability? I work full time as and RN and make good money but we depend on both of our incomes. I am severly stressing out, I feel like I am having panic attacks about it at times and I have always been very level headed. We have to give him Solumedrol infusions IV for the next 5 days and they said he should get better. I have noone to talk to other than coworkers. I don't know what the hell to do next, I can't fix him, I feel like I need a Valium to relax, should I talk to my doctor? Is there alt tx.?
