I was in a horrible car accident almost 20 years ago and my discs at C-3 and 4 and C-6 and 7 are both herniated badly-- with C-4 and 5 about to go too.
I just wanted to know what to expect in terms of length of surgery, healing and range of motion.

(and yes, I am seeing a neurosurgeon and will ask him this too, but would like to get feedback from other patients)

Thanks!

I get head aches 5-6 days out of the week. This usually happens when I first wake up in the morning. Do you think that's a sign of something serious, or is it common?

Well actually they are not like head aches at all. They feel more like enough blood is not flowing to my head because they feel like when you lean on you leg for so long that it doesn't even tingle it just gets that strange pain. I think it's the early stage of a blood clot maybe. It feels really intense. Has anyone ever felt this?

I lost a friend to this disease. It had skipped a generation in her family, so at first they didn't know what it was.

My son's had a few mosquito bites lately, so when I saw a raised bump I didn't think anything of it. Now it's changed into the bullseye similar to after a tick bite. It's more of a cresent than a ring right now. But we don't have deer ticks here (as far as I know) and Lyme disease is unheard of in our area. Everything I've read about this sort of mark says that it's a first sign of Lyme disease. He has an appt to get it looked at in a few hours, but is it possible it's just a rash or something, or does this mark always mean Lyme disease? I just keep thinking that I would have noticed a tick on his leg for a day or more.

I would love to hear from some people who can tell me what type of diet they follow to keep attacks from recurring so often, and what they do for the constant "ache" in that lower left area. It's so uncomfortable -- of course not as bad as the pain from the attack, but the regularity of the aching is bothersome.
