Ear Infection- bake an onion like a potato, then slice it in half, cover with cheesecloth. Lay the head on it, bad ear down. It will drain the infection out. Yes it works! I've done it with the kids several times!
Then there's how to cure a yeast infection for under 50 cents in the produce aisle. But I'm not gonna post that!

Here is a dumb remedy for warts that really works: Cover the affected area with duct tape. (Yes the shiny, silver tape.) Leave it on for 2-3 days. Remove. Repeat once. My son got warts on his elbow when sharing a desk with a kid that already had them. My best friend told me about the duct tape remedy, which I was willing to try, as my son was afraid of going to the doctor to get them burned or frozen and then cut off. My son was so happy that he didn't need "surgery" to remove those ugly warts!

I once knew this guy who had a severe athlete's foot problem and he could never seem to shake it entirely as it would come back on him after a short respite. Nothing seemed to be working for him, so he'd heard a show on NPR called the people's pharmacy which discusses health issues, and heard this crazy suggestion for a solution to his problem. The caller suggested that he pee on his feet while in the shower, so he tried it. And voila! He swears it worked, so I assume he's still peeing on his feet every time he takes a shower! Crazy huh??

For a Planter Wart on the bottom of your foot - tape an asprin over the wart.

Another remedy - Rub Caster Oil onto the Planter Wart.

Tried both of these on a couple of nasty plantar warts on the bottom of my foot - the asprin worked, but it did take almost a month. Caster Oil on the other - did nothing.

My grandma insists that drinking Knox Gelatin (which I've heard is made from horse hooves) in a glass of OJ every morning makes your natural nails strong, healthy, and makes them grow like crazy. Well, my grandma is the only one I know of that has done this...but because her nails are so strong...over the years her fingernails have left "claw" marks in her hardwood cabinets where she grabs the handle to open them.

To remove a wart you let a friend take a string and rub it across the wart and then they tie a knot in the string. you do this 3 times then your friend hides the string in a corner of your house but doesn't tell you where its hid. When you forget about the string your wart will be gone. I don't know if this really works but I did forget about my wart when it went away. lol

Cold sores: cure
Take some of your own ear wax and put it on at the
first tingle on your lip. Only a small amount is needed.
Yes, it works beautifully. The cold sore won't even come
up.

It helps even on cold sores that have developed. It just
won't be as effective.

After I had my 2nd child I developed mastitis. NOTHING helped! Then the hospital nurses told me to put cold cabbage leaves INTO my bra. It worked! It's the most amazing home remedy I've ever tried.

My mother used to mix honey and lemon with moonshine when my sister and I were little. It was used for everything from coughs to fevers. Whether it worked or not, I couldn't say. But by the time we came out of the coma, we were fine.
