I want to volunteer some time to help with Alzheimer's. I don't mind working with actual patients, but ideally I would like my efforts to be closer related to the root, where the time I spend is productively helping to find a cure. Anyone have any ideas?

Anyone work with Alzheimer's patients and/or the disease?

I am 44 year old and am suffering from back ache for the last 8 years or so. I understand that there are some exercises which can relieve the back ache.

It would be great if you could also give the link of some great websites which contains the pictorial descriptions of exercises for back ache.

I had the Flu last Novemember and have had chronic fatigue since. I have had two blood tests that point to Hypothyrodism. I haven't started on meds for it yet because I have also developed serious allergies/allergy-related asthma and I am trying to get that under control first (also started after the flu and thought the chest pain was fatigue related and only after 9mos of complaining, my doctor finally got a clue). I have not had any weight gain so far but I've been told that it happens if the problems with the thyroid go undiagnoised long enough. My only concern about this is because a few of the women in my family have been over weight and it has been such a struggle for them for so many years. I am already struggling with debiltating fatigue and allergies I'm not sure I want to add trying to loose weight to the mix either. What has your experience with hypothyroidism and wieght gain/trying to loose the weight been? Any advice?

Through the years, I have had occasional experiences with sleep paralysis. However, over the last few months and weeks it has become more frequent and worsened. Sleep paralysis happens either when getting ready to fall asleep or when waking from sleep. You are awake but cannot move for a period of time. I didn't know this was a condition that many people experienced until I told a relative about it over the weekend. She suggested looking it up, but the more I read, the more frightened I am. Each night I dread going to sleep because I know I will either have this experience just before drifting off, in the middle of the night, or in the morning when waking. Sometimes I try to cry out but can't, and definitely cannot move, but I can see. Sometimes I also can hear things but know they are not real (the other night heard news on the tv, but the tv was not on). If anyone has experienced this, do you know of something i can do before going to bed that might help?

This came on suddenly last night. He was airlifted; is conscious; has crying spells; has had bad headaches for three weeks. Is this suggestive of aneurisym or stroke? Any one know. The doctors are not finding anything. The llump at base of his skull came up today. He was not injured or ill.

I have chronic dry eyes, And just two months ago I went to the health food store and got fish oil, flaxseed oil, olive oil, and borage oils all in one. I was so amazed on how this product had helped me with the suffering of dry eyes 90% I recently pick a temporay job working outdoors, Im aware of the wind so I decided to prepare myself before i started this job, I have my sunglasses my eye drops and faithfully takes my olis before i leave in the morning. Well I realize that it doesn't help. My eyes burn, gritty, I took my glasses off and the sun bare down on my eyes so hard that I instantly got a headace and felt so nausea. I feel so so helpless and I feel like Im suffering "I hate this feeling" When I come home my eyes seems to be ok just a little. Im interested in the implants is it safe. Im a scaredy cat and afraid to have the operation. but Im tire of suffering. I know dry eyes unforunately never goes way. But in suggestions would help Please. Thank You.
