My grandma has signs of alzheimers and I wanted to know since she has it, if I am more likely to get it because of it running in the family.

I have sleep apnea.
I have a horrible time with bad dreams. I've only been using my Auto-pap since february and often I tear the mask off my face when I am sleeping.
I have the dreams all the time but they seem worse when I wake up without the mask. My dreams are of family and friends who have died. They are either in a dilapidated house with lots of creaky stairs and hidden rooms, or in the house I grew up in. I wake up scared to death.
My question. Do you think when I stop breathing it triggers the dreams?

I have had a painful tooth, and gum on my left lower side of my mouth for about two months. The pain is getting unbearable. I have no job and no insurance right now. I am using mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide and sometimes some clove oil on the affected gum at night just to be able to get some sleep.

Anybody out there got any suggestions. Please help

My fathersuffered from cerebral atrophy and had very restricted movements, mostly was bed ridden until his last at 66yrs.We were told that his father too died facing similar problems at 58yrs of age, with limited knowledge of medicine during those days.My elder sister, the eldest of the three of us who is 39yrs of age now has started feeling all the symptoms similar to that faced by my father. She wobbles, cannot walk straight, and falls down which is more like sudden jerks. What troubles us is that her condition should not get worse. She is married to our first cousin from dad's side and we are worried about the health of her two boys aged 19 and 17yrs.Infact we are all worried about the future health conditions of our children. My sister, brother and self have two kids each.To add up to our worries is our uncle, fathers younger brother who is also facing similar health problems. The doctors told my sister that the problem being heriditary, there is no medication. Please help.

My daughter is nervous about recovery time for her upcoming T&A. She's 9 y/o.

The posted info I can find seems to be standard 7-14 days. I'm looking for anecdotes to tell her when she'll start to feel better/not be in pain, rather than the standard "14 days til you can do sports."

When did you or your children start to feel better or have less pain?

(I was 20 when I had mine out- didn't eat solid food for 2 weeks, so I'm not much help as a role model here!)

Thank you in advance!

I am scheduled to have a second spinal fusion. My family doctor and I decided that I should get a second opinion. The neuro surgeon said that he could not help me. I went back to my orthopedic surgeon, who had by now, found out about the 2nd opinion. He scheduled me for a very painful test, one that he told me I didn't need, and also instructed me to get my pain medication from my family doctor. I guess his pride was bruised.
It has now been 1 week since the results of the test were sent to him. He hasn't called me to give me the results, and is now on vacation for 2 weeks. He is one of the best spinal surgeons in indiana. What should I do? I have also refused his advances in the past. This condition has been affecting me for 11 months.

The ache is just to the right of the navel and has been going on for weeks now. There seems to be a tightening of the muscles in that area.

This morning I noticed a small irritation on my upper lip, sure enough, I have a cold sore. This is only my second cold sore, the first being about a year and a half ago. I don't remember how long it actually lasted, but I know it seemed like forever. I think it comes from the combination of stress, and tanning in a bed 2 days in a row. Yesterday, I thought I felt my lip tingle while I was tanning. This is the case for both cold sores.

How can I speed up the process? How long do they usually last? I certainly won't mess with it. I want this unsightly blister off of my lip a.s.a.p.!!!

the MS is secondary progressive, and I have been aggresively treated with interferons since 1990, but my body now has built antibodies. I tire very easily, but I have so many things I would love to accomplish in my life. I'm in a chair, with other things not working well either; I've been on total disability for almost 10 years. I would love it if a cure could get me back into life, and I've read that researchers feel it's about 10 years away. I'll be 65 then, and seriously wonder if a doctor would invest any such new drug in a 65 year old woman. I'd love to hear some knowledgable response.

I know it's a disgusting question, and I apologise, but I just went to the toilet and my feces had a lot of blood in it. I checked, and it wasn't my period, so I've ruled that out... It's too early to go to the doctor...

The only other symptom I have is a very sore stomach prior to going to the toilet, which has gone away now.
