Diflucan (Rx) can help -- for an OTC remedy -- eat a boat load of yogurt -- make sure that your yogurt has live and active cultures (most do) If I were you, I would eat at least 5 servings of yogurt a day.
***********
Thrush is caused by a yeast infection -- likely from an antibiotic. This is very common in babies. Good luck!

It can be very hard to get rid of once you have it. If you follow this, you will get rid of it (and if this doesnt work, there's no way you are going to get rid of it without a prescription from the doctor). So print this out and show it to your mom or dad so they can help you with it and you can get your mouth back in balance.... You are going to do 2 things.... 1; A routine and 2; Take precautions First of all, you are going to need these ingredients- Tongue scraper (if you can't get one from your local store then you can use thread) Vinegar (any type) Baking soda Salt (any type) Empty bottle (like a small soda bottle) Mouth wash (any type) Teaspoon (to measure with) Tooth brush Tooth paste DIRECTIONS; Okay first you need to make the mixture that is going to help a LOT.... You don't have to use a measuring cup but just eye out about 1 cup of hot water. Add 8 teaspoons of mouth wash. Add 4 teaspoons of vinegar. Add 3 teaspoons of salt. Add 2 teaspoons of baking soda. Mix/Shake as much as possible. You a routine is going to involve tongue scraping which is going to be done using the tongue scraper but if you can't get a scraper for some reason, you can use thread. Thread directions; Just take the thread and about 4 1/2 inches away from the tip, fold the thread over (so now you have two threads thick), then once you hit the tip, fold it over again (now you have 3 threads thick) and then once you hit the end, fold it over once more, then cut it at the next end (you should now have a 4 threads thick 4.5inches long piece). Hold one end in between your first finger and thumb in your right hand and the other end the same way in your left hand nice and tight. Stick out your tongue as much as possible and put the thread across your tongue as far back as you can go (until it hits the corners of your mouth), pull the thread down so that it pushes on your tongue very hard and while doing that, slowly pull the thread towards you so that it scrapes all the way down your tongue. Wash the thread quickly and do this 2 more times. THE ROUTINE- AFTER WAKING UP, EATING, AND BEFORE BED..... 1.Scrape tongue 2.Floss 3.Brush teeth AND tongue 4.Use mixture you made as mouthwash for at least 30 seconds THE PRECAUTIONS- 1. Do the routine (good oral hygiene and medication is vital) 2. STAY AWAY from sugar!!! The bacteria causing the thrush feed on sugar so no sodas or candy. 3. Lean towards dairy that has probiotics in them... milk is good and yogurts (especially ones with extra added probiotics) are great. 4. Lean towards onion and garlic... they are also great with thrush. THE CHERRY ON TOP- If you REALLY want to guarantee results and get them FAST, you can go to the store and get the cherry on top (some over the counter pharmacies probably have them and health stores like GNC and Vitaworold will definitely). It's called ACIDOPHILUS and is powder in a capsule (it's okay if it has 1 or 2 other probiotics with it like bifidus-howeveryouspellit... After you do your mixture rinse, you need to break open the capsule and put a layer of it on your tongue and let it sit there as long as possible... once you're done, dont spit it out but just drink and allow yourself to swallow it so it can get to your throat to prevent thrush spreading as well as your stomach and intestines, where it will improve the health of your digestive system! Good Luck!
