Media is the major source of education and it gives a very unreal view of life. Our teeth aren't white enough, our skin tan enough, our breath minty enough, etc. Young adults do not know how to handle the stresses of life. They have not lived long enough to know that everything will change sooner or later. Nothing is forever. Just keep trying and wait a while and For Heaven's Sake and your own, have faith in God. The older you get, the more you will realize he is our whole world, whether we like it or not. There is a huge lack of family time and family support. People are so engrossed in Doing that they forget to live and to listen to and interact with others. When you get older you learn what is really important and Don't sweat the Small Stuff! We need Quiet Time everyday. Time to think, create, rest and notice and enjoy life and others. The older generation learned to change things they didn't like; the last two generations just accept wrongs without any thought of changing them. We have forgotten to Care. If you Care, you can't possibly commit sucide. You won't accept the wrongs you see . You won't give up God's wonderful gift of life and you won't cause others the intense pain of grief. You won't deprive the world of your special God given gifts. Those gifts take some time to find. So give life time. God doesn't make mistakes so obviously, if something is wrong you need to fix it to be happy. Get help and fix it! Don't just give up. Been There.

The media is far more widespread than it used to be, and technology has advanced so far that there are always newer, better things to buy to keep up the image that is portrayed to the puclic...people are raised now inundated with an unrealistic view of what "success" is. Success used to be being a good person, contributing to society and having those you love and who love you. Now success seems to be defined by things instead: the best car, a giant house, more money than you know what to do with, all the latest and too much of it.
Nobody can live up to unrealistic expecxtations of themselves, and I think for the most part, we are too hard on ourselves. People need to stop and decide Who they want to be, instead of what they want to have. And so, I think, so many young adults have no hope, and no self-love or respect, and begin to feel hopeless and unworthy when they cant
"keep up". What a shame, and what a waste.

It think this is a very good question. I believe it might be a number on killer because people are being forced to deal with too much stuff like stress & other stuff. And killing themselves seems to be the only way out for them..

good question. because of the way the media is portrayed. in the media, we are only showing rich and wealthy people, heck, even homer simpson the undergrad bum has a nice and clean and happy house hold, the problem with that is that people are thinking that they are the most unfortunate people in the world(thus, causing depression). plus, television has turned our kids away from a decient social life and has made many americans loners. in short, american media is making our youth anti social and depressed.

My opinion for the reason to that is because they feel as if they have nothing or no one to live for in the world...Also the case maybe that the young adult didn't have any guidence in their life as they were getting older..Life can be a ***** if you feel as if no one loves you...

SUCIDE IS BECOMING THE NUMBER ONE KILLER OF YOUNG ADULTS BECAUSE THEY FEEL DEPRESSED OR BAD TREATED FROM PARENTS. I KNOW THIS GIRL BUT SHE DOES NOT COMITT SUCIDE AND SHE CUTS HER VAINS. SHE IS LIKE ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR GIRLS. SHE SAYS SHE DOES IT BECAUSE HER PARENTS DO NOT TREAT HER RIGHT AND SHE WANTS THEM TO TREAT HER IRIGHT.

because people don't talk to their family or friends about it. so they end up thinking they can deal with it, and when they find out they can't, they look for a quick end to it, and death is always an answer.
