I've heard that the ink from the pen can go into your blood or something and can cause leukemia or some other type of cancer.

Is this true????

My mom was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 5 months ago. She still talks about cutting out recipes to make a big meal or is worried about where to store her Christmas sweatshirts for next year, etc. Her prognosis was 6 months and she's doing well at 5, but chances are she won't be here next Christmas. She'll also probably never have the strength to cook a big meal--she's already very weak. Do you think this is healthy for her mentally to think positively like this or is she in denial? I don't want her to be morbid or negative, but wonder if she shouldn't be facing reality a bit more?? What is YOUR opinion?

I've had a mole on my forearm for my entire life (not sure if it was there when I was born, but probably not!) It's not really changed, but has some of the ABCDE characteristics. For example, sort-of assymetrical, irregular border (but an ovalish shape), color is pretty much the same but a bit lighter in the middle. Diameter is smaller than a pencil eraser, and it is elavated, but always has been and hasn't changed.
This picture looks quite a lot like my mole: http://www.skincancer.org/images/stories/dysplastic_nevi/d_nev_5.jpg
Should I get it checked out/removed, or am I fine right now? My family have always had atypical moles, but nobody in my family that I know of have developed skin cancer. I'm thirteen, can melanoma occur at this age?

On May 12th I will be walking/running in the Revlon Run/Walk For Women. Last year I did it under my friends team.. This year I want to form my ownn team for my mom who is a breast cancer survivor and for my aunt who was just diagnosed last week with brain cancer. What are some good names for a team?

Here's the link to some of the teams already formed. Scroll down and go to Team Lookup.

Thanks for all your help!

My grandad was diagnosed with colon cancer today. They say it has spread, and i have no idea if that means if it has spread to his organs or whatnot. I am still in the inital shock phase, it feels unreal. I don't know what to do. My parents are away and coming back soon, and i just don't know how to cope. I believe it is pretty advanced. I don't know. Just some postive words would be great..:)

My mom has been on Tamoxifen for over 4 years and has endometrial thickening. She has stopped taking it now. One doctor said the thickness will never go down and poses an immediate health risk and she should have a hysterectomy immediately. Another doctor said not to worry about it, it will go down on it's own. Does anyone have more information on this?
