i was just wondering if any one has any ideas as to how i could encourage people to sponsour me this year?

doing the Breast Cancer 'Race for Life' I done it last year and made about £15...i want to raise more for research! :D

When our school did Relay For Life-Cancer Society-I made a powerpoint presentation, then took it to companies (or email it with Pack and Go in case they don't have powerpoint. I raised for our class of 7 people 1600 twice as much as our competion whom has 18 students. It worked for me. Also use Publisher or Word to make a flyer to put out around the neighborhood, laundry mats, libraries, grocery stores oh you get the idea. Get with a couple of others and have a bake sale at school or at stores ask permission first. We used the school and mall those mall walkers buy a lot....take your flyer to get supplies,you'll be surprised at what stores will give you for charity, at least a discount. I had good luck with WalMart, Sam's and those stores where say "Affiliated" who supplies two grocery stores sells their overstock, bent cans etc, those guys pretty much gave us everything, Walmart and Sams gave good discounts, politely ask for a manager, have your flyer with contact info and when you plan the bake sale, tell them you'll hang a sign in appreciation of their help, hey free marketing for them, makes them feel more charitible
When handing out around school and neighborhood remember
DO NOT place in mail box as that is a federal crime.

Let everyone you know, the people they know and so on that you are participating in the race... (of course let them know you are looking for sponsors).
Also carry a picture of you from last year and use that to get people interested. If you are working (if you are too young to work ask your parents) to check with your/their supervisor if they can post a picture of you at that their work table. You never know some of the people at work may help out a bit.
