Not me. I hate drugs. A friend smokes heavily, say 4 or 5 blunts a day. Wanted to know what health risks this person is involving themselves in??

Not all marijuana is the same. Some of the modern stuff can be very, very strong. In which case heavy long term use may involve an increased risk of mental illness. And there's the effect on your lungs, of course. But it's impossible to say what the risk is without knowing precisely what it is that you're inhaling. Once or twice a week isn't really regarded as heavy use, but as with everything, the effects are statistical and vary from person to person.

You should tell your friend to switch to a glass pipe. The blunt paper isn't good. Any chemical you smoke will have serious effects on the lungs and will most likely cause a cancer or other respiratory problems. It will also not lead to anything positive. Tell him or her they should get high on life. I am kinda kidding but there are alot better things then smoking weed. This is coming from an addict in recovery. Also the lifestyle can lead to jails or worse such as a deal gone bad causing murder. The whole drug scene is just not a pretty picture. He or She probably don't know who his/her real friends are. Will the friends disapear when the weed is gone? Good luck

From watching a relative go through the same thing, i can tell you even a few times can do some damage. This person 20 yrs later now experiences the following, they are paranoid, forgettful, socially behind and miserable.

The worst thing is that your friend is smoking blunts. Those are full of tobacco. Tell your friend to get a pipe, bong, or some thin rolling papers like Clubs.

Acutally he or she is killing brain cells with every smoke!

So, the long term risk is a dead brain!

Really, the answer is a no brainer

Hope you help your friend understand their expected future.

Cheers!
