If I eat apples, peaches, nectarines, pears, sometimes bananas (depending how ripe they are), some melons such as cantaloupe and honeydew, and certain nuts like cashews and almonds, my tongue gets itchy. It's been happening since I was really little and I never knew why. But I can eat applesauce or drink applejuice, which makes it even more strange. The itching happens on the sides of my tongue in the back, if that helps or anything. I also know that one of my aunts and one of my cousins also experiences this. Please tell me why this is and/or a way to make it not happen so much!!!! Thank you so much!!!

If I was eating peanuts, would it be possible for someone several metres away to go into anaphylactic shock, even though they had not touched or eaten them?

I have been experiencing allergy like symptoms at night. I try to sleep and I become stuffed up and blowing my nose like crazy. (I go through ALOT of kleenex). I have 3 cats but we really don't think its the cause of the problems. We thought it may be a dust allergy. Using a extreme allergen reducing air conditioner, vacuuming, dusting and washing everything religously helped alot. For the past 2 weeks I have had frequent and STRONG headaches (I normally get migraines, but not THIS often), while sneezing and being just miserable. I have taken my ES Tylenol, and its not helping much. What could be causing this??? How can I alleviate it?

My doctor won't see me for 3 weeks!

I've been around dogs and cats my whole life and NEVER have had a problem with allergies. Last week I had the flu and I thought I was over it, but yesterday I started sneezing a lot and my nose is running like a leaky faucet. I have two cats, and like I said, I've never had a single problem. Is it possible that I have allergies to something such as pollen? (the weather was very warm yesterday compared to really cold temperatures). Is it possible that I just am not over my flu? (it doesn't feel quite like the flu) Or did I get a mild cold? What is going on? I can't live like this! I'm hoping it's just pollen or something. Anyone have any thoughts?

Result is now a "burn" covering all the surface which was taped which has to be dressed daily but now we find I am allergic to all the tapes used ie micropore, mefix ...... any suggestions for strapping and holding dressings in place? I have the same problem when they put drips into my arms - skin breaks down within a day! Help please.

I have had an allergy to many types of nuts for many years now,so i've learnt to stay well clear of them.My son however loves them, and sadly he's showing the same sensativity that I have.
The first time he had a reaction was when he ate pecans,he broke out in a horrible rash and said his mouth itched.
Second was after eating walnuts. This time he felt sick and light headed, again with an itchy mouth.
Third reaction was to peanuts and this scared the hell out of me because it ended in a trip to the ER,he now carries around an EpiPen.But this isn't the answer, and twice he's gone into anaphylactic shock, once at school (he's 6) and once at a friends.I've explain to him that nuts will make him ill and he understands that,i've even asked him to explain it back to me to make sure, but he eats them anyway. Can someone please suggest a way I can make him understand how much of a danger they actually are?

Fortunately, I don't have any food allergies, and no one in my family does. But when we have kids, what can we do to minimize the chances that our kids won't develop any food allergies, such as allergies to nuts, wheat, soy, etc.?
