I have had an allergy to many types of nuts for many years now,so i've learnt to stay well clear of them.My son however loves them, and sadly he's showing the same sensativity that I have.
The first time he had a reaction was when he ate pecans,he broke out in a horrible rash and said his mouth itched.
Second was after eating walnuts. This time he felt sick and light headed, again with an itchy mouth.
Third reaction was to peanuts and this scared the hell out of me because it ended in a trip to the ER,he now carries around an EpiPen.But this isn't the answer, and twice he's gone into anaphylactic shock, once at school (he's 6) and once at a friends.I've explain to him that nuts will make him ill and he understands that,i've even asked him to explain it back to me to make sure, but he eats them anyway. Can someone please suggest a way I can make him understand how much of a danger they actually are?

There are books at www.foodallergy.org about Alexander the Elephant that is allergic to peanuts. My 5 yr old loves them.

Use harsh language. Explain that he could die from eating nuts.

I have a nut allergy, but now I can eat them with out the issues that I used to have.

My Mangosteen Story.

I began taking Mangosteen in August of 2005. I was presented this wonderful and delicious drink by my parents. At that time I began to discover the benefits that could be had from this product. I suffered from pain that would cause me to hobble around for 10 - 15 minutes every morning. On my 5th day of drinking this wonderful juice I was no longer hobbling around in the mornings and I was also pain free which amazed me to say the least. My next miracle that I experienced was that I could not eat nuts for much of my life. When I would be presented a dessert that would have walnuts on them I would have to decline, now I can enjoy the normal desserts as they were intended. There are more benefits that I received from drinking this juice and that is that I realized that it also helped to stabilize my moods. I normally wouldn't take to changes that would happen in my life with out being resistant. This affected my job, my performance, my relationships and my marriage. My world was in disarray and now I am healthier and a much better person that even my ex-wife and I are now seeing one another again and getting along better now than we did before we were engaged.

Since he is non-compliant you are going to have to go to school and other places and explain to everyone that he is allergic to nuts. It might be good if you get him a medic alert bracelet too. If he will not be responsible for himself; then others have to help him with his problem.

its best to catch your kid right after eating the food and tell him see how bad your feeling this is what happens when you eat nuts and explain everyday to him do not eat nuts.
