I have been experiencing allergy like symptoms at night. I try to sleep and I become stuffed up and blowing my nose like crazy. (I go through ALOT of kleenex). I have 3 cats but we really don't think its the cause of the problems. We thought it may be a dust allergy. Using a extreme allergen reducing air conditioner, vacuuming, dusting and washing everything religously helped alot. For the past 2 weeks I have had frequent and STRONG headaches (I normally get migraines, but not THIS often), while sneezing and being just miserable. I have taken my ES Tylenol, and its not helping much. What could be causing this??? How can I alleviate it?

My doctor won't see me for 3 weeks!

I made it clear that I needed to see the doc. Unfortunately, the place I HAVE to go to (hmo) is completely rude and have no customer service skills. It may sound as though I am exaggerating, but I am not, I wish I was though. I have been hung up on and left on hold multiple times. The last time they transferred me to a voicemail, and they will "get back to me". I am trying to change.

migraine--an extremely severe paroxysmal headache, usually confined to one side of the head and often associated with nausea

the weather is changing from winter to spring, that is most likely the cause of your allergy type symptoms, but it shouldn't be a cause for more frequent migraines. are you under a lot of stress right now, i.e. u have a deadline at work or school, relationship problems, or just an unusaully high amount of stress from somewhere else? most likely that is the cause of the migraines. i recomend excedrin migraine unless or until the dr. prescribes you something else. i have had chronic migraines since i was 8 or 9 years old, (12 or 13 years ago) and they are no picnic, i know. my dr. finally prescribed me something for them about a month ago. another question, are you pregnant? i know it seems blunt, but since i don't know your age or anything, i do know that mine got worse with each of my pregnancies, so that could be a factor. if you are, the best thing until you see your dr. would be to find the tylenol that is specifically for headaches, or ibuprofen (advil) will work and be ok too. if you are not, go get a bottle of excedrin migraine and see if that doesn't help them go away quicker. try to eliminate as much stress in your life as possible, more frequent migraines are usually triggered by stress, even if the "normal" ones are heriditary (like mine are).
i hope this has helped.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck.
Headaches can be caused by minor problems
like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more serious reasons
like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can
have harmful side effects, so it is better to
modify your lifestyle. More information available at

If it's happening at night it could be at least these two things: Mold sensitivity, as mold counts in the air increase dranmatically at night. Or, if it seems to be happening when you are in bed, it's probably dust mites and their feces. Wash all your bedding the hottest water possible, go buy hypoallergenic pillows and bed covers. The headaches, of course, are probably caused by irritation to your sinuses. Are the headaches felt in your forehead and face?

Sounds like sinus infection possibly. Call and ask for a sooner appointment as your problem is something that needs to be dealt with now. You obviously didn't state your need to see the doc properly or they would have given you an earlier appointment. Call and tell them you need to see the doc for a possible sinus infection ASAP.
