But do you know the chances of dying from the revision?... I'm 17, and I hateeee thiss. I hate being in a hospital! I just don't want the whole thing done all over again..

She was in relatively good health until she was diagnosed a few months ago. The cancer has spread all over her liver, to her lungs, and to other places, but I'm not sure where. She had surgery, but the doctors didn't remove anything because they said the cancer was too widespread. They decided to try chemo, but after a few sessions, they said her body was rejecting it- which I assume to mean that it wasn't working- and for some reason, decided not to try any more treatments. They have given her less than 6 months. I love her very dearly, but I do not feel that I can ask her or her immediate family question about her medical care because it might seem intrusive. I am struggling emotionally with this news, however. I don't understand why further treatments wouldn't be done. What would make a doctor decide to stop chemo all together after such a short time? Could there be something I'm not hearing through the family grapevine about her condition that would make chemo no longer an option?

This happened a few weeks ago and I mentioned it back then... but I was coming home after riding my bike and it winded me pretty good. I got inside and my chest just -hurt-. I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest. I could barely breathe and my whole jaw hurt, right to my teeth. It lasted for what seemed like forever. I finally just stumbled into the shower and let the water run while I sat on the floor. Once it passed, it felt like I had been hit in the chest with a baseball bat or something. The kicker? I'm 19, one month from 20. But now I feel fine... I just don't take that hill anymore on cold nights.

Am I looking too into this?

Every single day for about a month in a half now i have broken out in pretty severe hives all over my legs. they last for approx. an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less and occur at different times of the day.
i have never been allergic to anything in the past and i have no idea what is causing this.
i have tried everything to find out what this could be from and no one knows. but my question is, are there any lotions or creams that i could apply daily that will make the hives go away quickly and stop itching?
i have poison ivy anti-itch lotion, but that only helps to stop the itching.
but i need something to get rid of the ugly hives and redness faster. any suggestions?

i was diagnosed with osgood-schlatter's in my left knee when i was 13, stemming from gymnastics. they said it would go away in a few years or when i hit puberty, but now i'm 22 and it still hasnt' gone away. i stopped doing competitive gymnastics long ago, but the problem keeps getting worse.

this is not a mild case; you can see the bump in my knee from a few feet away it's so big. and it hurts all the time. i have a desk job and if i don't stretch my legs out every hour or so i'm in excrutiating pain. also, i had to stop running because that hurt it as well. i'm a very active person, so not being able to exercise like this is really bothering me.

i went to my family doctor, but he said there was nothing that could be done about it and i was pretty much stuck with it. he said i should switch to swimming if i want to stay in shape, but i don't have access to a pool.

does anyone else have the same problem? does it ever go away? can you get surgery? what helps with the pain?

I just started taking Lyrica to treat my Fibro. I've taken only 3 75mg doses so far (150 twice a day) and I feel kinda weird. A little dizzy and just kinda out of it. I know this sounds strange but hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about! What I would like to know is: is this normal? will it go away eventually? and have you had good results with Lyrica?
Thank you in advance!

I really want to help my Dad lower his blood pressure. I know that he needs to avoid excess salt or anything that contains high salt content but he's a single Dad now and he and my brother live alone and since he doesn't ever have time to cook, he makes unhealthy food choices that are quick to prepare (mostly heat and eat stuff). These are usually really high sodium too which isn't helping his condition so I want to help them out by preparing some healthy meals for them. Especially for helping my Dad get his blood pressure to a safe range. Can anyone please give me some recipes or a link that contains recipes that are healthy for someone who has high blood pressure? I really wanna help him / them.

I have SEVERE muscle spasms in almost every muscle in my body. I cannot wear shirts with collars because the muscles are so tight in my shoulders and neck, any pressure on them make me dizzy. I have tried a chriopractor, but after each visit, the dizziness and pain was unbearable, same thing with physical therapy. I get so dizzy after they work on my muscles, I can't even walk around without holding on to the wall. I dont know what is causing this, or where to go. Does anyone know the technical term for the doc that handles muscles? Thanks

Here is the article that I found on the net....

Generic vs. name brand Prozac

For those who are wondering...

I asked my OB/GYN (an M.D., not a pharmacist) about differences in effectiveness when the generic for Prozac had been out for a while. I, like many others, was curious since the price was significantly lower. He told me that under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should I ever take the generic, as he had patients that ended up attempting suicide (one succeeded) after switching from the name brand. The generic just did not work. He told me that if the pharmacist ever tried to give me generic, to state loudly (so the whole store could hear) that "my doctor told me the generic can kill you." He was ADAMANT about the differences between the drugs. I have taken the name brand Prozac for 9 years (it has worked wonderfully) and I will not risk the possible repercussions that generic might bring. No amount of money is worth taking that risk. Hope this sheds some light on the subject.

I don't really see this working, but if in theory its possible I'd like to try it. I have extremely high viral load, it would remove some of the *antibodies* but that wouldn't help

Hi all,

Not sure what my odds are of having some sort of med professional answer this but here goes. i have been to 3 doctors and they are saying i have symptoms of allergies. However, whatever I take does NOT work. My throat is ticklish so I cough all the time, I have a lot of nose congestion and mucus (no weird coloring, thank god) and post nasal drip. I have tried Sudafed, Alka Seltzer, Robitussin, and now Claritin.I also got a prescrition for Flonase two days ago. Also, when I touch the sides of my throat (like right under the base of my jawline, my glands are very sore).

I seriously cannot take this agony anymore...this has been going on for 9 days now. Any thoughts? Something more serious or am I just overreacting? Should I just wait it out?

Has anyone else experienced this?? Thanks.
