Osteoarthritis is the most common form of Arthritis and it is known as simple 'wear and tear'. From the age of 30 you start the Osteoarthritis process and if you took the entire population of the Global Village age 30+ and x-rayed them you will find Osteoarthritis. You first need to learn about 'joint' protection, how to use your joints correctly. Then you need to learn how to rest the joints. For example I have OA in the end joints and middle joints of my fingers so am typing this using a dictations system. I speak the words appear, saves the fingers. At night I splint both wrists holding the wrist joint in the correct position which eases the pain in the hands, fingers. They recommend Glucosamine & Chondroitin for OA however if you are allergic to shellfish or are pregnant you cannot take it. Half the problem is knowing you have it and then reading up on what you can do to help yourself, joint protection, exercise, rest, splints and so on.

Oesteo means "of the bones", so it is probable that you have inflamation and pain around the bones/within the marrow of your bones. I dont think overwork causes it. Look up on the internet what possible causes and treatments are available. As with any arthritis, ibuprofen will help to lessen the swelling and help ease the pain. You need to speak to your doctor if you cannot get the information you want on here, he will tell you if changes of diet and lifestyle can lessen the pain and the symptoms.

Osteoarthritis is a chronic arthropathy of an entire joint characterized by disruption and potential loss of joint cartilage along with other joint changes, including bone hypertrophy (osteophyte formation). Symptoms include gradually developing pain ag-gravated or triggered by activity, stiffness re-lieved < 30 min after activity, and occasional joint swelling. Diagnosis is confirmed by x‑rays. Treatment involves physical measures (including rehabilitation), drugs, and surgery.
Please see the web pages for more details on Osteoarthritis.
