I have a few cavities, and they are really hurting I have been taking excedrine for the pain but its not helping anymore, I tried the orajel stuff but its really not helping anymore either. I cant afford to go to the dentist and I do not have insurance. Any idea's, im considering go to the er but its going to cost a fortune and im not too sure what they would even be able to do for me.

So I was given amoxicillin pills to take 3 times a day until they run out after getting my wisdom teeth removed. I know they're antibiotics, but what are they supposed to be preventing/treating? What sort of infection? Dry socket which I hear is a deep bone infection or just a general infection of the gum?

I'm getting braces on Monday, and i'm scared that there really gonna hurt a lot, because i have spacers in my mouth and they already hurt(Spacers are little rubber band things that they put into your mouth so it can have more space, instead of a crowded mouth)

I'm going to have all four of my wisdom teeth pulled out soon. Aside from the pain medication that the dentist provides, does anyone have suggestions for home remedies that also ease discomfort? What about some of your favorite (strawless) meals to eat/drink/slurp on those first few painful days. Any words of encouragement? Thanks, guys!

I need a cheap electric toothbrush that leaves my mouth feeling wonderfully clean.
I heard that Vitality is good, but I was wondering what everyone else thought.

thanks.

One of my sockets is still bleeding, which is common, but I have tried gauze/tea bags, etc and it is being a punk. I know this is normal, but my concern is when I go to sleep. Do I need to gauze before I sleep? Do I need to lay on my side? Just don't want to choke out in my sleep like a drunk rockstar.

i am a dental tech, and i want to do invisalign, i only have 4 teeth that need to be straightened, cuspid and lateral on upper, and cuspid and 1st bi on the lower. i need to shift the teeth posterior to this point back a little to give me a little room as these teeth are crowded, my question is should i place the pressure point on the mesio-buccal and mesio-lingual areas of each tooth that needs to be moved?

About 3 months ago, I had my impacted wisdom teeth out, as well as a dental implant put in, during the same surgery. The strange thing is that the facial swelling went away after a week, which was expected, but it came back! I'm not sure exactly when, maybe a week or two after it went away. Now it's almost 3 months after the operation and my face is still noticeably swollen.

I talked to my dentist about it, who at first didn't see me but just phoned in a prescription for an antibiotic (he thought it must have been an infection) which I took, but which didn't help. After an appointment with him, he said he was confused because there was no sign of infection at all, and that he wasn't sure why I had the swelling. Later, I saw another dentist who said that the swelling was normal and that I just had to wait for it to go away.

I'm confused... Is it really normal to have swelling 3 months after wisdom teeth surgery? Could it be something else? Is there a way to reduce the swelling?
