I used to be a little pudgy at 5'4, 145 pounds. I then lost a lot of weight to 102, and gained back up to 115. I'm a 14 year old male, and I am 5'5 now. I don't know whether I should keep gaining weight, or if I should stay as I am.

When I'm on my feet standing or walking, after about 20 minutes my legs go numb. It feels like there is liquid fire in my veins and my lower back feels like it's going to snap. What's going on?

I am going to the urologist in a couple weeks but in the meantime does anyone have any suggestions to keep them at bay? I do all the things you are supposed to do...you know what I mean...and they still occur at least once a month. I have one now and it's so painful...

I have a friend that smoked pot frequently, well my friend stopped smoking and started working out, drinking plenty of fluids (water) and is maintaining a healthy diet. How long should he wait to consider applying for a job which consist of hair/urine/blood drug test?

In other words can two people that have no infections or disease contract something knowing that unprotected sex is involved in the situation. I think it can happen but I would like to know everyone else's opinion.

I think it's a garbage can diagnosis personally. They should take it out of the DSM altogether. It causes so many problems in mental health centers because we are forced to work with these individuals who aren't technically mentally ill in anyway. They just have poor coping skills and low social functioning. There is nothing you can do to treat them or make them better. The system enables them in my opinion as borderline personality disorder is characterized in such a vague manner that anyone could be called borderline at some point in their life. They are such a burden and a waste of time. What do you think?

I have serious problems making new friends. When I’m in a social situation I clam up and find it incredibly hard to talk to anyone- I usually end up looking for a reason to escape. When I end up talking to new people I come across as cold and unfriendly, even though I don’t mean to. My voice is so quiet that I often have to repeat myself, and if I try to speak up louder I sound harsh to my own ears. I don’t know why I can’t carry on a normal, friendly conversation with a stranger, but I’m in my second year of Junior College and I’ve not made any new friends because I have so much trouble just putting myself out there. I avoid the college parties and social events because I dread the crowds and possible interaction. I even decided not to enter a poetry contest that I probably could have won, because I would have been required to read my writing in front of others in a casual, party-like setting. I don’t generally care what people think of me- I don’t try to avoid getting weird looks (I tend to dress on the strange side) but having to speak terrifies me.

I have one good friend from high-school who I sometimes go out with, but because of our work schedules I don’t see her or even talk to her often. I hardly have a social life at all- I only go out occasionally and usually with family members. The only friends I can claim to have made recently are people I’ve met over the internet, who live in other states or countries, which I realize is pretty sad. I’m extremely shy and I always have been, but I’m wondering if I might have an anxiety disorder. This is seriously causing problems for me- I don’t want to be a friendless homebody forever!

I have started working at home 5 days/wk so I'm not as active as I use to be but I try to watch what I eat & I work out to my Denise Austin dvds. I'm only 26 but it seems like my metabolism is not the same as it use to be & it's very depressing. I was a true size 12 but i use to wear some 10s. Now I'm starting to lean more towards 14s & I do NOT want to be a 14! I had lost about 15 lbs 2 yrs ago on the carb diet & then when I tried it last month for some reason it wouldn't work for me!! I couldn't believe it! I wonder if all the fad diets cause your metabolism to slow down. Please help...I don't know what else to try!
