I am trying to make this for Halloween. I was thinking use clay to build up the brow and nose on a blank mask I can buy at Michaels, then buying fur/hair and attaching, then paint the whole mask tan. Would this work? Are there any other ideas that could work better, maybe with latex or something? I have never made this type of thing before so any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I don't know if I should have it cut away from the medallion, or would it be better to leave it as is - and how do I find out how much it's worth ?

I am thinking about creating a website to sell my Diaper cakes, Diaper Bears, Diaper Wreaths, Tie-Blankets, Scrapbook frames etc.... I have no ideas how to do this or what I should add or anything. I am going to set one up through yahoo, but I just don't know where to start once I have a site.

Like, over the years, my mom has gifted me with lots of sweaters and mufflers .
True, some of them were outrageous colours, and I wore them simply to keep her happy ;-) but this christmas, i want to make something for her.

Like there must be hundreds of sites about knitting, but i would prefer one with videos. (I can never follow my mom's hand movements when shes doing it... She's too fast)

I am creating my own queen size bedspread using 19" blocks of homespun but want to vary the design by inserting similar blocks of a crochet square ... does anyone know where I might find an appropriate pattern, or has anyone done something similar and could provide advice? so my sister is having this masque for halloween and i've got a mask that i wanted to elaborate on...namely by painting the mask from white to black. i tried spray painting it, but because it's made from the shiny plastic, the paint wont dry and (after 1.5 days) keeps rubbing off (i kinda expected that, but thought i'd give it a try anyway). i thought that i might cover it in paper mache and then painting it after that.
#1-would paper mache actually stick to the plastic like that?
#2-what is the ratio of water/flour and should i add starch? if so, how much?
#3-got any other ideas on how to make this work? the mask i have is perfect as far as shape goes (it's a cat) but i just wanted it black...

Does anyone know how to paint on a welding helmet?
I have a good friend whose boyfriend is going to graduate from welding school next year. Since I'm an artist, she wants to buy a black welder's helmet and have me hand paint a custom design on it. No problem.

I've researched online and found out that welding helmets are primarily made of fiberglass or a poly resin mixture ... and people that have hand painted them have done it with polyurethane paint ... but that's all they say.

Wouldn't you need to clear coat the final work and if so with what? Since you'd assume he'll be working in a hot, flamable environment, the kind of paint and clear coat you use would have to be safe ...

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on where to start on this project ... what materials to use ... and how to do it make the end product as safe as possible?
