I'm making bibs, which is a simple pattern of 3 layers of fabric sewn together and turned right side out. I always serge my edges, but I'm wondering if I can skip this step since the edge is going to be inside the bib. If I don't serge it, will it fray and cause a hole when washed over time? I'm using all cotton fabrics: flannel, chenille, and gingham.

I just bought a model car, and I was wondering if it would be okay to mix some nail polish with the normal acrylic paint (I forget what brand I got).

I have a number of valuable coins (Morgan Dollars, Franklin half dollars, Walking Liberty half dollar etc.) that I would like to sell on Ebay. I don't know anything about coins though. Here are my questions:

1. How do you take a good picture of a coin to show all the details (the ones I've taken are always blurry)?

2. What kinds of details would coin collectors want to know before buying (besides year, mint, etc.)?

3. How do you determine the condition of a coin?

4. Should I sell each coin individually, or should I sell them in sets? (If sets, should I sell them by year, by mint or what in order to get the most money?)

Thanks

how do you make iron on letters or anything else without the excess white paper showing up on your shirt? do you have to cut every letter out? I know you can buy letters but I would like to make them from my computer in different fonts and even make other logos and print them out but I don't want to have to cut out everything and especially small letters. am I just buying the wrong paper or can I buy paper that only I print the ink on is what comes of on the shirt.? i am trying to start making bulk orders and need some help please?

I hope someone will explain to me why this question is asked? It's asked several times a day and I don't understand why. Are you trying to learn what people collect so you can figure out what to sell, or do you want to collect things but you don't know what?

Today I bought this Pretty Petals craft kit to make fake flowers. I'm supposed to put wires in petal shaped things and paint them and once it dries it will supposedly makes flower petals that look like stained glass.

But in the directions it says after painting to wait 8 to 12 HOURS for them to dry. That just doesn't seem right at all. Could it be a misprint?

I just bought my first pattern, a McCalls pattern, thinking that it would be simple enough but its greek! Are there any good websites that teach a person how to sew from a pattern?

I'm going to be sewing by machine and I want to make something fairly easy. What was the first project(s) you more experienced seamstresses made?

The long and the short of it is:

I don't have tons of money and I want to make my wedding guests something nice they can take home with them. Most crafts and such that I've seen are more the things women would like. Can you think of something men might like? Or something that's pretty neutral that both genders would think is cool?

I already know about edible things, so anything non-edible would be really appreciated. It also doesn't have to be romantically themed.

What I've thought of... if you've seen book purses, I was thinking of making something similar, but smaller and a small handle so it doesn't look like a purse. "Book bags" or "book cases." What do you think? Would a guy like something like this, if the cover was of a book, movie, comic, that he likes?

Any other craft ideas for guys would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
