I just bought a model car, and I was wondering if it would be okay to mix some nail polish with the normal acrylic paint (I forget what brand I got).

I wouldn't recommend mixing the 2 paints. Are you using the nail polish because you want a shiny finish? If so, just paint a clear coat over the model. If it's a color issue, just use the nail polish alone. Good luck with that.

I wouldn't mix the two... MOST nail-polishes contain toluene which will NOT mix well with an acrylic paint. Toluene, as a solvent may ALSO damage the plastic itself !

I'd recommend looking at Tamiya's acrylics... they have wonderful colors for their line of cars / motorcycles, including some pearlescent shades: http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/category.php?sub-id=59000

Good Luck with the Car...
