I am a stay at home mom of 5 kids that are out of school for the next 2 months, and need some ideas since we are on a tight budget. Especially with gas prices the way they are right now!!! My oldest is 10 1/2 and my youngest 4 1/2, 3 boys and 2 girls. They love the outdoors, but we live in a complex of duplexes, so there is not a lot of room or privacy like I want. I love to cook, and do crafts, but I usually just run out of the cash flow to make or finish fun projects. Any and all ideas welcome!!

I got a great answer from an formal sailor on ocean water. Can anyone tell me how to create a river flowing through a diorama for tanks and such. What do I use for the water? How do I do it. With that out of the way, how do I construct the basic shape of the land, make mud and water (like a wet and rainy Vietnam day), busted up buildings, tress, grasses, dirt, roads, and everything else that it takes to make an accurate and flat out cool looking diorama? Then how do I keep it looking that way?

Hey all,

I'm organizing a "cultural station" on my ethnic culture (Hmong) for students from Ireland (ages 8-10) on July 12th and need fun ideas on what to do (especially ideas that don't require a budget 'cause the program I'm doing this through doesn't have anything beyond $20 for me--I'm assuming).

All ideas (educational, crafty-fun, and that will last for about 10 minutes) are welcomed!!

I seen it is Fine Scale Modeler Magazine. You use Future floor polish to make the water shine and epoxy or clay. I also know you paint the clay or epoxy or whatever it is. I want to know how to do this with the material. I'm also thinking about having the Battleship look as if it is firing a round out of the 16 inch gun. But forming the surface to look real is what I don't know how to do. Please help.

I made a xylophone out of copper pipes for physics, but I can't get the pipes to make a good sound. The pipes hangs by strings, which are looped over a broomstick, so I can tap them and play a song. But only a couple pipes make a clear sound. Any pointers or reasons why this is happening?

I'm looking to make a cute baby blanket for my unborn baby. I still have mine that my mom made for me before I was born and I would like my baby to have it as a keep sake later in life.
I need some suggestions regarding the type of "fabric" I should use. I don't mind spending money on something expensive as long as it's long lasting and good quality. I was thinking about cashmire for a while, do you think it would be suitable for a blanket for a newborn?
Last question, where can I get good quality materials to knit the blanket? Are there any "luxury fabric stores" either online or regular one that somebody can recommend me? Thanks a bunch!

I have three walt disney picture discs ( the LP kind with a picture on each side) which are still un opened and in mint condition.
