I would like to build birdhouses. I've decided the best way to start is by purchasing kits, then later on to design and build my own. Is there an online store you can recommend? Does Lowes, Home Depot, Target, or Walmart carry birdhouse kits? Which kit company do you recommend? And, if I'm going to design and create my own birdhouses in the future, what kinds of tools and machinery will I need? Finally, what kinds of paint should I buy that will resist weather? Thanks for all your help.

I have a chainmail rosette that I want to affix to a leather strap to make a choker necklace and I can't figure out the best way to get it to fasten on securely (so it doesn't flop around).

Does anyone know how to do this or (better yet) know where I can get some instructions on working with leather?

Thanks.

I am looking at fulfilling a lifetime ambition of making quirky one off pots, plates, ornaments, jugs vases, ashtrays and all sorts of weird and wonderful nik naks - all in clay. I don't have much money to throw at this as it will start as a hobby, and hopefully if it gains enough momentum I can sell things locally or on ebay and maybe have enough money for a kiln. My question is therefore how can I get started and what''s the best type of clay to use and without a kiln but using an oven or outside gas barbecue barbecue (which can heat up to 800degrees - not sure if this is celcius or farenheit)?

Like, would I have to use paint? Or chrome foil? Or anything?! Is it even possible?

I am preparing for a convention coming up pretty soon, and I am making a wooden katana that is very similar to the real thing. I already have a wooden katana that I bought from years ago, but it looks like the picture I provided above. Is there a way I can cover the blade with some silver paint or something that can make it look realistic?

I have this new brother sewing machine...model LS-2125i...and I'd finish sewing a strap, then look at the back of the material and its would be just one big mess. Is it the tension? I'm clueless.

I salvaged an old cookie tin when my brother was moving. It has a beautiful rose pattern on a black background. The inside, however, is rusted. I need to seal the rust so that I can pad the bottom, sides and under the lid, and then line it with material. Does anyone have any suggestion what to use?
