Before I moved to Europe, I had some books on gambling, but the Post Office lost my box. I doubt I would find any good books written in English here, but I could order them online if I knew some titles.

I also have a question about Black Jack. It seems like the dealer gets an inordinant number of ten-value cards, and aces. There have been times where I've counted, and it seemed statistically impossible. For example, in 20 hands, the dealer got a 10 or Ace as the first card in 17 hands. What is the strategy people use for beating the House? What are the most common mistakes?

When I play Black Jack, this is what typically happens: I start playing with $50. I usually double that or go slightly higher, perhaps to $140. Then, even though I try to continue playing at this steady pace, I begin to lose, even though I'm adhering to the same basic principles. Is this a common mistake? What am I doing wrong?

Grievous backers would be most helpful.
We are having a detailed debate, so please answer with some valid points, I thought Sith Lord hands down, but there can only be two so techinically he was not a Lord. AND with skills and time served I am starting to realize the it is not such an easy question to answer.

Game type: $400 NL Its 6 handed. Ur utg+1, Player b is utg +2 and player c is utg+3.
Your image: You sat down a couple of minutes ago
Your hand: 5♥5♠

Preflop: Player A limps, you limp with your 55, Player C limps and Player D makes it 10 to go. Player A folds, you and Player C both call. Flop gives you middle set:

K♦5♣3♦

Flop: You decide to lead out for $35 and both players call. Turn is J♥.

Turn: You lead for $120 now and again both players call. River brings the 4♦.

What’s your play here? If you check how will you respond to a bet?

Game type: 200/400 no limit cash 6handed
Your image: LAG
Misc notes: Your opponent is even more of a LAG than you
Your hand: A♦A♠

This hand is taken from actual game play at the 200/400 no limit table on Full Tilt. This hand took place between Brian Townsend and 93TilInfinity. You will be standing in for 93TilInfinity.

The setup: You’ve built a nice stack in this 200/400 game when the following hand comes up.

You’re dealt aces on the CO. UTG folds and Sbrugby (Townsend) makes it $1400 to go. You re-raise to $4,987. The table folds back around to Townsend, who calls. The flop comes

8♠8♦J♥

Townsend checks and you bet $8,800, not too much under pot. Townsend calls. The turn isn’t really good news:

J♦

… and Townsend checks again. What’s your play with aces on a double-paired board
