Gambling

I usually play tight aggressive, but I've relised its better to loosen up a little and become even more aggressive, to take advantage of people who become too tight open to sit and wait for the money in, but is there a point when my play should change to take acount of this, what would this be?

probable options seem to be, assuming the bubble is the 4th player:

1. When there are 5 players left
2. When there are 3 players, plus the bubble left

PS: This is hold'em, either limit, NL or PL

Okay im really ripping you guys off on this one as its not a quiz at all.

However, i was playing 2/4 yesterday and i kept seing people slowplay fullhouses when they could have easily bet to build the pot. However, they checked and the next card kills all the action. Horrible play.... anyways this article reinforced my idea that slowplaying in most cases is a bad idea.

Im 19 and can legally play poker in the casinos here in florida, but I cant seem to find any big money tournaments available to people over 18. For the most part they are 21 and up and I was wondering if anybody had any idea as to where I could find, or get involved in, some tournaments that are 18 and up and actually win some decent money. You have pocket 5's on the bb against a tag. 1/2 effective stacks 400 6 handed. TAG raises utg to 6 you call. Flop comes out 3c 5c Ad. You think he has an ace 75% of the time. He could also have JJ-KK 10% and the other 15% is KQ, KJ or some random crap.

Which line do you take if you want to stack him completely? Bet into him and keep betting on all other streets? Check/ raise on the flop and then take control on all other streets? check/call and then c/r turn then lead out river?

I don't have a problem with player's putting a "lucky token" on their hole cards. I do it myself. I use an old 50 cent piece. Do you think a player should be allowed to put his hands over the flop or other player's cards or aim it at the deck...or the dealer? Example.....Humberto Brenes (with his sharks).. I for one don't think so. Dressing weird and wearing sunglasses is one thing. Sticking your hands and or toys over and around the table is another. Gimme' your thoughts and opinions.

Would you put all of your tournament chips at stake with the 10 8 like Daniel Negreanu did in the WSOP Main Event? Top pair crap kicker with runner runner straight draw? I can see him making the move all in, but calling off all of his chips like that? I cant say I havent made a stupid call like this before - but not in a big tournament with all of my chips at stake. And if he did think he had a read on this guy - was it still a good call? I think I remember him saying - "you probably got me" ? Does Daniel Negreanu still have these awesome powers to read his opponents like everyone says he does? Im sure he can read better than I can, but I am starting to think that its a myth that these poker players have these great abilities to read the players that they play against. These players know that there are reads out there - they use them themselves - I use them also, but I dont play against Professional Poker Players on a regular basis. I think the reads come mainly from bets. U?

I was watching high stakes poker and the famous Phil Helmuth wanted insurance on a pot he was all in with....which means he wanted to pay close to the proper pot odds of him being beat

he had 44 the other guy had 32 flop 4510....no flush draws involved

So helmuth asked around the table what are the odds of him losing...and none of them knew...and Jamie Gold whos a mathmatician said between 50% and 33%

helmuth ended up accepting the 33% and threw in an extra 5% to the guy insuring him

now here i am...not a mathamatician but im thinking they all totally out of their minds

straight draw odds are like 31.5% but the fact that the Phil had a set means u have to subtract the odds of the board pairing by the river which is 5%...so the real odds of him losing are 26%, which means helmuth should have only paid the 26% plus an extra 5% to cover the guy insuring the pot...so he over paid by 8% which is at least like 13k for a pot around 180k

1/2. Guy with 200 stack raises in ep to 7, I call in MP with 250 with JsTs, one of the blinds also calls.

Flop comes Td 7d 6s. He bets out 18. If you reraise to around 54-60 you will find out exactly where you're at... However, the problem is .. all worse hands fold (and wont possibly double barrel bluff on the turn) and all better hands call (maybe q10 folds).

So... do you reraise or call and evaluate on the turn with position against the open raiser?
