Okay im really ripping you guys off on this one as its not a quiz at all.

However, i was playing 2/4 yesterday and i kept seing people slowplay fullhouses when they could have easily bet to build the pot. However, they checked and the next card kills all the action. Horrible play.... anyways this article reinforced my idea that slowplaying in most cases is a bad idea.

I play 2/4 no limit which requires a 8000 bankroll. If i move up then it would be bad bankroll management no?

LMAO at mispipik! I'm absolutely sure Dunhate would LOVE to sit at your Friday night game and be assumed to be a chump.
Anyway, favorite food is a thick, rare bone-in ribeye with a good bottle of Cab and some ridiculously rich potato dish on the side...maybe some grilled asparagus brushed with sesame oil or a really good creamed spinach as a veggie.
Lemme read the article and I'll get back with the rating.....
.....First off, the hero and villian stuff and the abbreviations make me wonder if it's you.....
Anyway, some good points and some pretty obvious observations. Some of his examples are a little weak. I absolutely agree it's a HUGE mistake to slowplay a monster preflop. It's suicide. TJ, McEvoy and others have said if they don't call your big bets when you have a monster preflop, be happy to take the blinds.
His "Idiot Monster" scenario is pretty basic horrible play. It's old guys sitting at a 1/2 table on a weekday morning kind of hand. I can't think that anyone but a boulder would play a monster that tightly.
Author seems to be very confident that his fastplaying will always garner calls. I'm not in anyway endorsing slowplay as a general rule, just don't always assume you're playing against LAGs.
Hero bets 2 1/2 x the bb with 65 utg?? PLEASE put him at my table. The one time he hits a monster like the example board will be more than offset by the number of times he gets crushed playing so loosely preflop. Even worse, connectors play better against multiple players and you're chasing them out by betting so hard in early position.
And yes, always go all-in when you hit quads, especially when they're small quads. No one's gonna put you on the case card.
Again, problem I see here is the assumption that you're gonna get called regardless of the number of bets you throw out. I might have bet the turn a little softer. And how do you know he wasn't slowplaying AA and the river A ends up being the miracle card for both of you?
Finally, check raising will slow down action dramatically on subsequent streets. I'm not saying it's wrong it should just have been pointed out that check raising shouldn't be used too frequently (once you do it a couple of times you're pegged at the table) and that your chances of action on future streets is almost nil.
I'm also not saying right and wrong here, just that slowplaying is warranted a little more often than this author gives credit for. And the article is pretty well written.

Get away from 2-4 and even 3-6. Most players at those tables don't know how to play and have too much money to burn (although, that sometimes can be a good thing). I just can't stand when a player calls a raise pre flop with like a K-2 off suit, hits nothing on the flop but calls your bet anyways, hits nothing on the turn but calls your bet anyways, and then maybe hits a K on the river to beat your pocket Qs. Argh! 4-8 is a much better game in my book.

Article gets a 6 from me.

And my favorite food is macaroni and cheese.

Chinese food. The spicier, the better. Nothing makes me happier than chowing on some Szechuan Beef with enough burn to make my nose run.

I give the article a 6. I agree that slowplays are overused, especially online, but the author focused way too much on slowplaying when your opponent DOES have a hand, and completely ignored the fact that your opponent often has nothing, and your only chance for additional profit is to give an aggressive opponent an opportunity to bluff at you.

If you did an analysis of the number of times betting out post-flop resulted in a fold, vs the number of times checkraising bought you at least the continuation bet, and THEN add in the advantage of betting out when both players have hands, THEN you'd have a strong argument.

{Ok, ok, I also didn't like the arrogant tone of his intro. "I don't post often in MHNL because at that level, some of the advanced concepts and thought processes are better left unsaid since some people still don't understand them."

Sheesh! What a schmuck!}

My favorite food is french toast with melted cream cheese and bananas.

I rate it a 13 out of 10 because it is SO informational and geniusly put together. I've never read anything so great in my life and I guarentee I'd probably start winning tens of thousands of dollars more after reading it. I also need like 8 more points to get to level 3 so.... what say you?

2/4 Limit? Then thats why, your playing at a very low skilled table. You may be playing below your own skill, I'd try 3/6 or 4/8

Not a bad article. If you don't like this description, read "Super Systems." Doyle says pretty much the same thing, and anyone who doesn't believe him is a dillweed.

This reminds me of a quote from rounders,"Bad players play good hands weak and bad hands strong."
