I'm reading it now, and he doesn't agree with the whole "play tight in the beginning of the tournament" theory. However, most "theorists," as he called them, said that this is the better way to play at that stage. I'm confused. Your thoughts?

I fully understand you will lose over a lifetime if you gamble. I am looking for Betting stratagies that seem to "hold there own" Please dont include systems that involve "chasing" lost money.(Doubling on even money chances until you do win etc etc) They CAN turn a small lose into a total nightmare. Thank you kindly.

Yesterday I played at an Indian Casino. Table limits were $5-500. I have read many books on blackjack. I never read anything like I saw. When I arrived at the table (3rd base) a lady was playing 3 hands at $500. She had about $2300 in black chips, 500 in green and 75 in red chips.
She ended up losing everything, and going into her purse for about $1200 more.

So any thoughts on multiple hands?
It looks like she did not have the recommended amount of money to weather the storm (80X your bets).

Here is what happenned.
Dealer shows a 6. Player to my right has 3+2. (he does not hit believing that he will get a 10 and the dealers bust card)
I stand with18.
Dealer has a 5, and draws a 10 for 21.

The girl losses $1500 and says the person should have hit the 5.
Shouldn't you just play your cards regardless of others bets?

You have AdKc on the bb. Its heads up 5/10. Its been a harcore agressive game (lots of 3betting, c/rs, some allins). You have been getting the best of him and were up ALOT, but he got lucky twice and now stacks are both 3k. He has never ever min raised b4. However, he has called the flop then raised on the turn. Usually, its a strong hand, but one time you caught him with air.

Anyways he raised to 35 on the button/sb. You r/r to 135. He calls (quite a huge range actually as you 3bet alot).
Pot is 270. Flop comes out AdJc6h. You bet out 200 and he calls. Pot is 670 now. Turn comes out 2s (rainbow board). FIRST question... Do you go into c/c mode for as you are either way ahead or way behind? Lets say you bet out (makes the quiz more interesting)...
You bet 575 now. He now minimum raises to 1150. If you call you will have 1525 behind you. If you go allin now it will be around a pot sized raise. Question #2 call or allin?

Lets say you just call. River comes out Js. Pot is 1485.

This is a vertical wheel with numbers and playing card suits (clubs, spades, hearts, diamonds) on it, and pegs sticking out which hit a "flapper" as the wheel spins. People put bets on corresponding squares on the booth countertop, and win a prize if the wheel stops on their number or suit. My friends insist it has a name other than "Wheel of Fortune".

I've been playing a lot of free rolls lately on FT because I'm trying to mimic Chris Ferguson and build up a decent bankroll from nothing. I play my normal game for the normal stakes (single table s'n'g's) to make my poker income, but the bankroll from nothing has me intrigued. The problem is that I can't seem to make it to the money. I know only 1% get paid, but I've cashed out of hundreds of tournaments, you'd think I'd make it that far at least once. The thing I've noticed is that people will play ANY two cards. I flopped top set last night, my opponent went all in on the turn, and I had the second nuts. You'd need 46 to beat me with a straight, no flush draw, and of course what does my opponent turn up? 46, and he called a pre-flop raise with it! I'm not crying, sooner or later I'll make it happen. But does anyone else notice that free rolls are almost a different game? They seem to be all about luck. Your thoughts?
