I fully understand you will lose over a lifetime if you gamble. I am looking for Betting stratagies that seem to "hold there own" Please dont include systems that involve "chasing" lost money.(Doubling on even money chances until you do win etc etc) They CAN turn a small lose into a total nightmare. Thank you kindly.

The easiest way I've found for a recreational player to win on any given night is to use positive progressions. In other words, increase your bet as you win until you reach a certain point.

For example, when playing blackjack, make your first bet $10. If it wins, increase your bet to $15. If that wins, go to $20. Go up to $50 using this sequence: $10, $15, $20, $30, $40, $50. When you hit $50, you can either hold at $50 until you lose, or start over at $20 instead of $10 and double the progression (20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100). Whenever you lose, start over at $10. I like this betting style because if you win, you win big, but if you lose, you're still only out the same amount you would have lost making flat bets (betting $10 every time) and playing until you lose your buy-in. Just remember if you lose your buy-in, don't pull out more money. Go find something else to do for awhile and come back later if you still want to play.

I do not suggest doubling after every bet, because if you lose before reaching whatever your top level is, you throw away everything you won and are a bet down. I do not even suggest doubling the first bet like some suggest because if the table is choppy and you lose every other hand, you're in the same position as if you had actually lost every single hand.

Good luck and have fun. And remember the only way to leave a winner is to walk away while you're ahead. Money management is the key to successful gambling.

If you come across a bet that you believe has a chance of winning, put £20 aside to use for it.
Stay away from the betting shops.
Each time you see a bet that is worth a 'flutter'. put £20 aside.

You wont get more than the initial outlay but the money will be available and will soon mount up.

Gambling is a 50/50 thing.
You will either win or you wont, if you don't gamble then you always break even.
I like those odds!

Play blackjack. Basic strategy is easy to learn, and it improves your odds. You can win a lot of money just by basic strategy. Now, if you can learn how to count cards easily, it's even better. You won't be betting hundreds, so the casino won't notice. Learning to count cards takes about 30 minutes, and from then on it's just how good you are at simple math. For example, you want to bet when the count is really high. cards from 2 - 6 are a +1. Cards from 7 - 9 are not counted. 10 - Ace are -1. So, if you get a high count of +9, (meaning the odds of you getting two face cards, or atleast one with a 7 - 9 card are very high). Then you start betting higher. When the count gets really low, like -9, you can either stop playing, come back later, or bet really low.

OK! I understand exactly how you feel. I am a poker player who enjoys the sights, sounds, and feel of live and or online poker. Been playing for four years now and STILL have not learned everything there is to know. Poker is ever-changing and the "basic" strategy you are looking for is non-existant. Experience, with a bit of textbook knowledge, is what you need. Hand ranking is relative. If I told you to NEVER play 7-2, I would be doing you more harm than good. It depends on the situation, players, position, stakes, etc. If you really want to get better, practice. But, when you practice, make sure you are following a proper/ efficient strategy. Things to do next time you go to the casino: * Before you play, try to watch some hands. See what the other players are showing (card wise). Watch their faces, bodies, and listen to their comments. *Choosing the right game is one of the most important elements of a good poker player. Pick a game that is one you can afford to lose. Don't put your entire bankroll in one game. *Be confident. It's always good to have a "poker face" at the table. But, that doesn't mean to sit there quietly and stare at the table the whole time. Engage in light chatter. Small talk. Ask questions to the players around you. It's always good to ask them probing questions regarding a certain hand they just won. With a nice, and friendly attitude of course. *If you are going to talk, try not to say anything that might assist other players in deducing you're strategies. "I totally should have overbet that pot if I wanted to bluff that guy out!" might give someone insight into your next attempt at "buying" a pot. *Poker is fun, intimdating, money taking and giving. Enjoy the game while you learn! Keep a tab on your wins, losses, and bankroll. Be very honest with yourself. The numbers don't lie and they can help steer you in a better direction. Just switching to a different table limit can make a ton of difference sometimes. **Lastly, don't let the swings bring you down. You are going to win some, and, alot of times, lose some. There have been times that I have gone weeks without a good night at the tables. And, if I let that bother me, I might have given up on one of the greatest games in the world. Take your losses in stride and more importantly, LEARN from them. Good luck to you. I wish you the best. Poker has been very fulfilling for me these last four years.

Gambling in casinos is not a case of 50/50, the house always has the edge.

Have an amount you can afford and once you have hit that amount walk away!

If strategies worked there would be no casinos!

lol, my new strategy for the casino is to go into that place with $60 bucks or LESS. If you dont win something with 60 bucks, playing blackjack or roulette ( red or black or any outside bet is the best way to win) ITs not meant to be and chances are if you had more money you would lose it all. STAY AWAY from slots, theyre garbage, very rarely do people win anything on them, not to mention its quite a boring way to lose hundreds, even thousands of dollars.
