I live in mainland China and love the foods here. However, I've started counting calories and watching my daily percentages of carbs, fats, and sugars. There are of course Chinese websites that list number of carbs in each food, but I've never found anything witht listiings for carbs, fat, sugar, and others.

The counting calorie-crze hasn't hit China yet, with most food labels not including any of this information. The amount of overweight people here hasn't reached the level that America has, so I guess folks aren't that interested in these things at present..

If anyone knows of any place where I can find out this info (in Chinese or English), I'd love to know.
Thanks.

Blow Fish is a Japanese delicacy, but it is also the world's most poisonous fish. One itty bitty mistake in preparation, and you're a goner. How many people succumb to this form of poisoning each year?

I have a few favorite Indian main dishes that I cook on a regular basis. I know what side dishes (daal, naan, raita, chutneys) usually go alongside, and I try to make those when I can, but sometimes time is short. What goes really well with dishes like butter chicken or palak paneer that's easy to make? Thanks.

Sunday my church is having an international lunch; we're all supposed to bring food from any country besides the USA. What should I bring that either does not have to be heated up or that will reheat well?

I recently went to costa rica and stayed with a family. My mother would make delicious cinnamon spiced papaya, it was harder than the fresh stuff and was red in colour and soaked in a container of it's own juice... it was like candy... but I can't seem to get the recipe. Have you seen or had this before... you help would be much appreciated...

I was traveling through the southwestern US this summer, and in the grocery stores I saw bins of "doritos". They looked like little orange wagon wheels. Is it a spice? if it is, What is it used for?

It's a Korean delicacy which is similar to the Japanese makizushi. It is made of rice, seaweed and other ingredients. It depends on who makes it. My mother puts yellow daikon, spam, seasoned greens, and sometimes kimchi. But unlike sushi, kimbab doesn't have raw fish.
