I'm gonna say toasted ravioli and Imo's Pizza are the specialty around, not to mention budweiser?? i think, Its a very colorful city and has primarily Italian and German influences. Theres a whole section called The Hill thats all Italian, while the brewery originated here too.

I'm in Western Canada, where there are a lot of Ukrainians. Specialty dishes are pyrohy (some people call them perogies), which are like a dumpling with a variety of fillings - most popular is potato and cheese; holubtsi (cabbage rolls); and borscht (beet soup). There are many other special dishes, most often for Easter and Christmas.

I live in Maryland. Maryland is famous for its sea food - particularly Crab Cakes. Here is a recipe:
MARYLAND CRAB CAKES
1 lb. Maryland Backfin crabmeat
1 c. Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 lg. or 2 sm. eggs, beaten
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1 tsp. Worcestershire
1 tsp. dry mustard (or regular)
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
butter, butter, or oil for frying
Can use 1/2 teaspoon seafood seasoning.
In mixing bowl, blend all ingredients EXCEPT for crabmeat. Add crabmeat, fold in gently, but mix thoroughly. Shape into cakes. Cook in fry pan until browned; about 5 minutes on each side. Or wrap crabcakes and place in freezer.
Makes 6 crab cakes.

In Canada we are known for several tasty dishes.
1) Poutine - these are french fries served hot & covered in cheese curds and beef gravey.
2) Beaver Tails - these are large flat pasteries covered in sugar or cinamon or sometimes maple sugar.
3) Moose steaks are also popular...I've never tried them, just because I haven't had the chance yet.
4) Donuts - Fried pastery covered in many things. You can get these eveywhere.

Potatoes with apple sauce, green beans pork schnitzel. Diced carrots and sliced onions, boiled, mashed with potatoes, served with pork and gravy. Lots of people eat french fries with mayonnaise, curry catchup and onions (special), or with a peanut sauce, or with just curry sauce, or mostly with mayonnaise. The Dutch use mayonnaise like Americans use catchup on their fries.
Netherlands....Above Belgium, next to Germany, bordered by North Sea.
