It's a Korean delicacy which is similar to the Japanese makizushi. It is made of rice, seaweed and other ingredients. It depends on who makes it. My mother puts yellow daikon, spam, seasoned greens, and sometimes kimchi. But unlike sushi, kimbab doesn't have raw fish.

I've tried gimbap but not kimbab. I like how it tastes similar to sushi without raw fish or even smoked fish, which I hate. It's very fresh tasting and one of my favorite Korean dishes, while my favorite is still bibimbap!!

Actually, the concept itself is not quite that similar to makizushi. In Korea, it's packed by mothers for kids going on field trips as it is easy to pack and doesn't spoil easily. Here's a website that has a gimbap recipe:

Hope that helps~!

Yep, I make it all the time at home. No Korean resturants here, so I just make it all myself.
