. . .Because I've never seen one. It all comes down to opinion, of course, but in my *opinion*, the quality of the food on Chinese buffets is generally worse than that at sit-down restaurants. It seems to me that Chinese-American food generally relies on quickly cooked stir-fry type meals, and having the food simmer there in hot plates defeats the purpose and ruins the flavor. The food gets all dried-out and icky, too. And plus, it seems like every Chinese buffet I go to has the EXACT.SAME.MENU as all the others; WHY?
I guess the reason I'm so cranky about this is that the last non-buffet Chinese restaurant in my town just went out of business, because people seem to be crazy about the buffets, since you can get "more bang for your buck," there--but honestly, I prefer quality over quantity. Perhaps I just haven't run into a good Chinese buffet yet; what about you?
