♡I THINK you just probably ate too much.
I don't think it was the wasabi, just the amount of sushi.
IF I eat 12 pcs of sushi MY stomach hurts too.
Just depends on the person.
The rice can be a bit filling.
I can usually eat more sashimi than I can sushi...
(BTW, I live in Japan.(*^o^*)
For me, it's too much. My hubby can eat double that and
more and be fine.(^_-)-☆
Eat your sushi slowly and enjoy it. When you feel full, just stop. Hope this helps!♡
Hope this helps!

Honestly, 12 pcs of sushi is not much. I'm smaller and lighter than you, but I eat more sushi in 1 time than you, and nothing bad happens.
Is it your first time eating sushi? If it is so, I guess you tummy is only not used to it. Could be because of the wasabi, but normally it also wouldn't be a problem. Also from the cooked topping, it should be safer than the raw ones, but also the raw ones should be safe enough (cuz the make controls).
So the other possibility is, from the green tea (Ocha). Did you drink it? Cuz sometimes when the Ocha is too strong, you could get stomachache, you even could get diarrhea. This happened to me several times when I eat at this sushi bar. But only in this sushi bar. They have special mixture for their green tea, and it's just too strong for my tummy.
Ok, now I come to another possibility, did you drink Sake? (the Japanese Wine). Because the mix of wasabi and sake could be bad for your tummy if you are not used to it (wasabi is hot, so is sake).
Well, that's all I could tell you what might happened to your tummy.
Just take a few Charcoal pills, it's the best way to neutralize your tummy from "food/drink poisoning". And drink a lot of water. It'll help, I promise you ;-)

It shouldn't be the sushi if it is cooked. I can eat about 30 pieces before feeling bloated. The Japanese put the wasabi on as it acts like an antibacterial agent and makes the sushi safer for consumption. If you do feel sick it is probably that your body isn't used to that type of food. After living in Japan for five years I now find that I feel sick after eating meat pies as my body has adapted to a different type of food.

Eating too much of anything can be bad. All food/drinks have to be consumed in moderation! But the act of eating sushi itself can't make you sick, unless...

It was not prepared in a clean kitchen, the ingridients weren't refrigirated etc so you might have a salmonella infection or food poisoning.

Its most likely the freshness/cleanliness of the food that would make you sick.

It was probably the amount of food rather than the content. Sushi is high in carbs, so you don't feel as full as quickly. You also have a smaller stomach, with can get distended easier. Try some bicarbonate or pepto.

if you eat the sushi too fast... your stomach will hurt -- try to eat slowly and take your time. It takes a few hours to fully digest the food. And spend some time talking to your friends, family or any acquaintances.

It's probably the wasabi. It will do a number on your stomach with the hotness.

Looks like you're about to find out the answer to your own question! :-( Try taking some antacid to ease the burn.
