Heres a Recipe for you. Please do not add ketchup - thats a taboo in Indian cooking unless you're taking the easy way out. (I have used cream of chicken soup packets to make the white sauce for Chicken strogonaff).

Ingredients

Chicken thigh - 1/2kg
chopped Green pepper(caspium)-1
chopped onion-1
chopped tomato-1
tomato puree or paste -1 1/2 tsp
3 cloves garlic(or garlic paste-1 tsp)
ginger paste-1 tsp
red chilles powder-1 1/2 tsp
coriander powder-1 tsp
cumin(jeera) powder-1/2 tsp
tumeric a pinch
chopped coriander leaves
Garam masala (Available at any Indian store)
salt to taste
oil for cooking

Method:

1. Chicken cut into pieces and add salt, tumeric, and chillies powder and mix it and keep aside for 20 minutes.
2. Heat about 2 tablespoons oil in a cooker or pan and fry the onion and garlic and ginger paste for 2 minutes over high heat.
3. Add the chicken and salt. Fry gently for 5-10 minutes,
4. Add the chillies powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, tomato, green pepper, cover and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes. If u want to add some water and boil it for another 5 minutes.
5. Add the tomato paste or tomato puree and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the fat separates out from the thick sauce and add garam masala until 5 minutes.
6. Remove from stove and add coriander leaves
7. This dish could be severd with rice or chapattis
