I am planning a baby shower. This is one of my first real big events. I want to have a variety of finger foods. I'm not sure how to figure out how much food I'll need to buy and prepare. Does anyone know of a website or free tools, charts, or formulas to help figure out how much I'd need. Thanks to all for any help.

We are having new employees from my husbands work to come over for a BBQ. I am looking for ideas on how to make it run smoothly(and so I dont look like an incompetent bosses wife). Ideas on decorations, food, music , bar setup would be great. I know a lot of people are having parties these next coming weeks and I would like to get ideas. Since there are going to be kids, we are getting a bouncer to hopefully keep the kids away from the adults. Any more idea ideas would be great. I thank you all in advance!

I am looking for a pattern to carve a watermelon.
I would like the image if a bride and groom. I had one in the 90's but can't find it.
It was similar to the pumpkin carving patterns you can get.
If anyone has a website or book they know of PLEASE, forward it to me. I don't need the halloween patterns, ONLY wedding images please.
THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!!

Every time this couple brings food items to our house they (without asking) grab the left overs and go out the door.

Why is food considered an important aspect of parties ???? Does this have anything to do with the basic necessity of survival ???? is it beause we consider food as our ultimate requirement that we cannot leave our time of enjoyment without food???

I'm already making "explicit" jelly molds, already giving a free gift for "best lingerie over the clothes" contest, what are some "raunchy decoration ideas" & cute, funny ideas to make my friends brag about the best "adult party they have ever been to"? Help me out people! I'm starting to stress & I need your imagination. I've read previous q & A on this topic & none of the answers satisfied me. I would appreciate some helpful suggestions. Thank you.

I'll be 50 soon and will be planning my own party. It sounds pathetic, but I am a widow with a 4yr old. He doesn't have the finances to do it. Ha Ha. Anyways, I have a brother out of state and my parents and in-laws have passed. So... I thought I would write a letter as an invitation keeping it on the light side. I saw an idea for a time line and thought that may be fun to do. But I feel funny doing these type of things myself. Close friends live too far to help. What is too tacky? Any ideas for the party or how to go about planning it?

I'm having an outdoor BBQ at my place. I've asked my guests to bring a side dish to help deter the cost. I'm providing the burgers and hot dogs.....I'm also providing the drinks. I've had these types of parties before, but one person (who wasn't even invited - but has invited herself) says it's uncouth.....what's your opinion?

I'm planning an outdoor party for my single friends, who are mostly in their 40's & 50's, and I'd like some suggestions on fun activities. They don't all know each other, so I'd like some sort of ice-breakers. We'll have food and music, and the temperature will probably be in the eighties.

Alcohol won't be served, although if someone brings their own, it will be o.k.
