I am planning a baby shower. This is one of my first real big events. I want to have a variety of finger foods. I'm not sure how to figure out how much food I'll need to buy and prepare. Does anyone know of a website or free tools, charts, or formulas to help figure out how much I'd need. Thanks to all for any help.

For finger foods, I don't know. That's a little more difficult. If you're doing a cook out, you plan for one and one half pieces of meat for each person. But also remember, it's better to have too much food than not enough!

Good luck!

For finger food, I generally figure 6 pieces per person, plus dips and chips that don't really count.

Since you are serving appetizers as the meal, you should plan on 5 to 6 pieces per hour per person. This site should help you further.
