I recently hosted a baby shower, here are some ideas.

Cut up fresh veggies, put them on a tray with a small bowl of ranch dressing.

Cut up assorted fresh fruits into bite size pieces, put them on a tray with whipped cream in a small bowl.

Shrimp served on a plate of ice with a bowl of cocktail sauce.

Smokies (small smoked sausages) that have been simmered in a mix of grape jelly & bottled chili sauce.

Cheese tray

Assorted sandwiches made with uncrusted bread and cut into 4 triangles.

Cupcakes (I made the pacifier ones that are on the Wilton page) http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/babyshower/cuteandcontented.cfm

Hope this helps. Enjoy -- and Congratulations to the new mom.

make torilla wrapped sandwiches, then cut them into 1" slices. You'll have nice discs, easy to pick up and eat.

To me this sounds like the perfect even for the chocolate fountain. They are easy and fun to use, and you can cut up all kinds of great things to dip. It will be the focal point of your nibbling.
