Beer, Wine & Spirits (Food & Drink) - February 2007

I need suggestions of a good, sweet sparkling wine or champagne. I'm willing to spend a little if it is sweet. I've been wanting to try something other than Martini & Asti. Just about everything I tried has been very dry. If you are suggesting something that is hard to find, what site do you use to order?

What is the best tasting whisky bourbon besides Jim Beam?

Jim Beam is boring in my opinion, and not strong enough, it's only 37%
I've tried Maker's Mark and honestly i think it's the bees knees and worth every penny.

What is the best way to drink apple schnapps?

this stuff is 21%, stronger than apfelwein. it burns when you drink it straight, would lemonade or apple juice work as a mixer?
by the way it says on the bottle it's a wine product, it's not one of those cheap sugary schnapps, it's the german version properly fermented.

How do i get the smell of alcohol off my breath?!??!?

To often, when i go in to work people tell me i smell like alcohol. I don't know what to do. My drink of choice is Vodka, thought that might help someone who has any suggestions. Thanks!

What's the best way to hydrate before/after partying?

I find myself being extremely thirsty the next day. I always drink a lot of water before and after but I still feel thirsty. I usually have 8 beers or so in a 4hr period.

Where to artificial tannins come from?

When a wine maker adds artificial tannin to the wine because there isn't enough from the grapes themselves (many wineries routinely do this, though they will not readily admit it), where does this tannin come from?
