The correct answer actually depends on the specific antibiotic you are taking. Some yes, and some no. And it is doubtful that ONE glass of wine will have an effect anyway.

your box of metronidazole should have a specific warning not to drink any alcohol. it is the one antibiotic that you really cant drink with as you will be violently sick, most of the others it just reduces their effectiveness but not metronidazole. it used to be used as a treatment for alcoholics because of this side effect of vomiting in combination with alcohol so steer well clear till a couple of days after you have finished the course.

It depends on what antibiotic you are taking. Read the sheet that came with it, and it should tell you if you can drink alcohol, or not.

it's harmful in that it stops the antibiotics working. antibiotics can also make your stomach delicate so alcohol can make you feel really ill.
best avoided x
