The main cause of a hangover is dehydration. The best way to get rid of one is to drink lots of fluids, preferably Gatorade or other sports drinks that replace electrolytes.

Don't listen to these people - I have had more hangovers than hot breakfasts and I can tell you it's all about the sugar. Get some sugar into you straight up. A can of coke is the best- not a bottle - it has to be a can. If you can't get one of those have a coffee with sugar, or even a chocolate bar. Then have some grease - bacon & eggs, burger, whatever you feel like - plus more coke - maybe a post-mix this time.
Vitamin B is also a help - do you have berocca over there? Get one of those into you - or just a vitamin B pill will do.
NOW start with the water - as much as you can handle without being sick - and some paracetemol if you need it. You'll be tops in no time!

I don't have a hangover cure but I can definitely help you for your next night out. Before you go to bed take 3 Vitamin B tablets and a large glass of water. This will rehydrate your body while you're sleeping (the dehydration causes the hangover). It is simple, but believe me, it really does work. It always works for me.
For now, just have 2 Vitamin B's, some tomato juice and some greasy chinese food or McDonalds. Then sleep for as long as you can.

this is dependant on how ur body copes, i find that a few glasses of water before bed will make the hangover far better to start with and then i find lucozade sport is perfect for rehydrating and for me a macdonalds milkshake really settles the stomach, a shower always makes u feel loads better too as even when i have just been out and not drinking you still get a slight hangover feeling from the smell of smoke and stale beer etc.

Fatty, salty food and lots of water.
Here's a hint, though: you need to prepare. If you're going to have a big night, buy some Alcodol or Hydradol. They're anti-hangover tablets that work if you take them correctly, before you drink. You can also just take a few vitamin B supplements throughout the night. Also, when you get home, just before you go to bed, drink a full glass of water and eat a vegemite sandwich. You'll be sweet.

Start drinking again, works every time! Seriouslt though, how about avoiding a hangover altogether? Drink a glass of milk before you start drinking - it lines the stomach therefore prevents a hangover (dont really know the details but i know it works!) I usually take 2 painkillers (Nurofen Liquid Capsules) before going to bed - works every time!

Alcohol is a vaso dilator. The more you drink, the more you sweat.Loss of circulating body fluid, electrolite, including cerebrospinal fluid which is the pool of liquid the brain floats in, due to extreme sweating, causes the pain which is known as a hangover.Replace this lost fluid by drinking several mugs of tea containing some sugar. This will alleviate most of or all hangover symptoms.

Its true, drinking can make you get a hangover and you get dehydrated. As others have mentioned, be sure to drink plenty of water. I'm thinking 100% orange juice or some other 100% fruit juice may also help to some extent but I don't know for sure. I can't speak from personal experience because I've never gotten one, but I'm sure water will help greatly. Also, make sure you get plenty of rest.

Chemistry 101-- Every alcohol is a dryer.... fuel dryer, beer, wine, whatever... it will dry out whatever it comes in contact with... inclucing your body.
A hangover has the exact same symptoms as severe dehydration....
Step 1- Get rid of as much of the alcohol as you can- go throw up!
Step 2- Absorb as much of the alcohol as you can- go eat a big carb-alicious meal.
Step 3- Rehydrate- drink lots of water, to replace all the fluid you lost peeing...
Step 4- Prevention- Do the whole eating and water-drinking thing before you go to the bar to drink alcohol next time- it will slow down the absorbtion of alcohol into your system and allow your body to metabolize it. Also- slow down your rate- nurse 1 beer all night, instead of downing glass after glass... after glass...
Oh, yeah, and know your limit, quit while you're ahead, and you won't have such a monster headache in the morning.
