Personally, I hate sweet wine/champagne but I know alot of people who drink Verdi. This is especially popular with the Italians & Macedonians. I think it's dreadfully sweet, but so many people like it. It's cheap,so you can always try it now and buy later if you like it. My favourite if Fleur De Lys.

I love Champagne/sparkling wine, especially Mumm Napa. But that was too spendy for our wedding, so I got Cooks on the recommendation of a friend who owns a liquor store. Everyone at the wedding swore it was a $30 bottle at least, and it was only $4 a bottle! So if you just tie a nice napkin or dishtowel around the bottle, nobody will ever know.

Sorry...I'm not a fan of sweet champagne. There are alot of them in the import market and yes you'll pay a pretty penny for them.
Have you tried mixing a champagne with a fruit juice and make a champagne cocktail? OJ with fresh strawberries is always a favorite.

I like Cinzano brand asti spumanti. It sparkles, and is just sweet enough. Champaagne is much drier, and the cheaper stuff just isn't as pleasing.

My ex wife liked this one brand that was pretty cheap and actually didn't taste too bad. It was bubbly and sweet and had a rosy red colour. Andrea Pink Champagne

Have you ever heard of white zinfandel? One that wants a champagne to be sweet does not know about alcohol....

Andre Spumante is absolutely divine! also Moscatto by Sutter Home is nice and sweet, another is GEWERTZTRAMINER (geh-VAIRTZ-trah-mee-ner) hard to pronounce but very tasty! the American versions are probably anywhere around 10-15 dollars, maybe less.
Hope i helped:)
good luck!

Sounds like you would like Prosecco, an italian style sparking wine.
Zardetto is a good producer.
