I am vegetarian and a lot of people ask me how I survive without eating meat. First of all, I am vegetarian by choice. For me, I have access to a lot of good vegetarian food. My mother is vegetarian and she cooks very well. Her food is very good and she makes all kinds, indian, italian, chinese, mediterannian. I love all vegetables and tofu is my favorite! I also eat a wide variety of exotic fruit, such as pomegranate.

However my friend hates all of that. She doesn't like tofu or pomegranate. All because she tried them before in a way that is disgusting. A tofu shake, sounds gross. Pomegranate juice, I've never tried it but I love the fruit. She probably wont try these ever again because of bad experiences with it.

That is what I blame. People are so turned off by vegetarian food because they try it once and it wasn't a good source to try it from if you understand what I mean.

Please comment on what the other reasons are.

Last night I was making dinner went to the store to get a measuring cup it was a glass pyrex. Came home measured 1/2 cup of cream cheese and poured it into a bowl. I did not rinse the cup so it still had some residue in it. Next I chopped 1/2 cup of green onions and poured it into the bowl. I placed the measuring cup down. I then tried to open a parsley container and a couple seconds later the measuring cup exploded all over the place. It was not near heat or anything like that. That was the only things that was in the cup was cream cheese then green onions. When I say it exploded thats what I mean it didnt just crack I had glass from one side of my apartment to the other. Intrested to see what people think this could have been???

I don't buy sandwiches as a rule but I work in a garage and I have often wondered why we never get pork or lamb sandwiches. Do these meats not lend themselves favourably to sandwiches? Just curious!

Due to certain health reasons, I have to eliminate wheat and meat from my diet. I also have to eliminate junk food and soft drinks.

So my question is--what can I eat that'll fill me up? I'm gonna miss not being able to eat stake or pizza or....*sigh* so what can I eat? I need a list. I'm completely new to this so any and all advice would be very helpful. Usually I eat things like spaghetti or hamburgers...what do I eat now? How do I keep myself from starving???

I know to change the water that you soak them in overnight before boiling...but do you change the water again during the time that you boil them? Im trying to cook them so that the beans dont give gas, so thats the goal.
