This is a little sweet - and it tastes good. Teenagers really love it. I received this recipe from my Indonesian-Dutch neighbor. You can either serve it on a plate with bread and butter on the side or serve it in a bread bowl so he can eat the bowl as well.
ROTMOK
1 medium onion - cut in half, cut into slices and then cut into thirds so you have chunks
1 garlic clove - minced (cut into tiny pieces)
3 carrots - cut in half lengthwise and then cut on an angle to bite-size
2 potatoes - cut in half, cut in half again, and cut into bite-size pieces
1 can kidney beans - drained and rinsed
1 can green beans - drained and rinsed
1 can peas - drained and rinsed
1 can Campbell's tomato soup
1 lb ground beef
Place a little oil in a skillet. Add the onions and garlic and saute until translucent (goes just a little clear). Add the ground beef, breaking it up into chunks. Add the carrots and cook 1 minute. Add the potatoes and cook until the potatoes and carrots are just tender (you can stick a fork into the carrots easily) Drain off the grease in the bottom of the pan. Transfer the skillet mixture to a pot and add the kidney beans, green beans, peas, and tomato soup. Add just a little water to thin the soup and mix well. If it's not thin enough to coat everything with the soup, then add a little more water. Heat until everything is hot. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve either with bread and butter or in a bread bowl.
Enjoy! It's a kind of stew. The tomato soup and peas make it kind of sweet.

Well if you have them already try this glaze for chicken I did it on my turkey and it was great. You need perferably boneless skinless chicken enough for the family to have seconds if wanted.
2 c dried cranberries
3 c water from the tap or bottle
.5 teaspoon black pepper corns
.5 tablespn honey
.5 tablespn brown sugar" dark or light
.5 tablespn maple syrup or brkfst syrup u have
.5 c grape juice" its odd but tasty
1 cap full of mrs.dash original seasonings
Combine all in sauce pan and let come to a boil. reduce heat and let simmer for 20-30 mins til sauce coats the back of your spoon. It will still be a bit runny but when it cools before use it will thicken wonderfully. When sauce is ready strain out all bits of fruit and spices and toss away. Please use a fine strainer not one you use for pasta belive me you dont wanna bite in to a peppercorn ick. Have your hubby test this sauce and add honey accordingly if he wants it sweeter. but only add a tablespoon at a time so you dont over do it and ruin the glaze. The chicken is healthy but the sauce is a nice treat I wouldnt make this glaze to often as much sugar is in it. But I hope this helps some. good luck

Here's a traditional Cape Malay recipe all the way from South Africa.
http://www.inmamaskitchen.com/RECIPES/RECIPES/meats/bobotie.html
It uses curried mince with an egg custard topping. Served with yellow rice (rice, turmeric, raisins, butter, brown sugar), it's out of this world. If you really want to make everything sweet, make sweet-potatoes or sweet carrots with it.

Bourbon Chicken with Rice and Veggies.
Season chicken breast and cut in chunks. Saute in a little olive oil and garlic. After cooked thoroughly add some brown sugar, soy sauce and bourbon (or whiskey). Serve with white rice, steamed carrots, zuchini, and snow peas. (I like to julian the carrots and zuchini)

Yes, you can just split it on top like a baked potato. But don't add normal baked potato toppings! Sweet potatoes are best with butter and cinnamon, yummy stuff...
