I teach K and have been making a snack for the kids (or we have been cooking it!) at the end of the week for whatever letter we have been working on. (A = apples, B= bagels with butter, C= cookies, D=Donuts, etc). I cannot think of anything for E. I have to pay for it and prepare it, so I dont really want to make eggs or eclairs. Any ideas?!

sad around thanksgiving? this is my first vegetarian thanksgiving and it's making me really sad, being more aware about turkeys. i mean, thousands of them die this season, just so families can eat only part of them for one dinner.

it makes tears come to my eyes just thinking about it. do you have any advice of how to deal with this type of sadness?

there is this ONE kid, Eric, in my school, and he is giving me such a HARD time! It somehow spilled that i was a vegetarian, and most ppl were like "thats cool!" But most were like "what do u eat?" i told them ,they never botherd me.

HE! He everymorning, he is like i had a nice juicy steak for breakfast. i love to kill my own pigs (makes squeals)! I'm gonna have dear meat! I usually say "thats nice" Isnt he supposed to stop because i havent giving in? But he said "i'm not doing the work"(he is in my group) I said "yes you are, oyu i'll make u eat Soy" ANd he was like" i'd rather eat Worms!" I want ot bring some in, and have him eat that!

What can i do/say to get him to shut up forever, so he is sooo in shock he never wants to talk to me again!

I kinda think he likes me cuz' he always pokes me, but i have a BF and Eric is SUPER UGLY!

But what do isay?

My daughter is a vegetraian and she is going to a slaugterhouse as a class field trip. SHES IN FOURTH GRADE! what can I do?

Okay I love to bake and I'm good at making cakes but I just don't know how to make the icing that goes at the top and I just bought this book called "Beautiful Cakes" by Peggy Porschen and I though it was gonna say how to make the icing they use for those really preatty cakes but it doesn't so does anybody know how to make it. I was told it was a shot of Jeg (duh) and Red Bull. I tried to make some one night by dropping it in the red bull like I was told but something didn't taste right...

Clean and boil about two pounds of new potatoes. Remove from heat when they are about half done. In a large cast iron skillet melt a stick of real butter until it's turning brown. add potatoes that have been well drained. Add about a tablespoon of kosher salt and about a half teaspoon of freshly ground pepper. continue to cook over medium heat until potatoes are nicely browned and cooked well. In the last couple min. you can add a couple teaspoons of diced garlic or enjoy as is.

It seems to me that there are no great health benefits to these sorts of diet.

But don't get me wrong, I totally support these approached to life, but rather as humanitarian reasons. I am totally against eating any animal that has been made to suffer in any way. This leaves very few animals to eat.

But are there any real health benefits to not eating meat?

I read directions to making cocktails and other kinds of drinks and they mention, you add 1 part of this and another part of that. So how much is 1 part, is it a tablespoon, teaspoon, a shotglass full, etc...?
